True Crime - Case 3 - Hit and Run Murder

As usual, for today case, we will solve this murder, and I will provide you as many information as I can as an crime scene investigator, you will play the role of a detective, you can ask me any question you would like regarding the crime scene or interview question with the suspect(es) and I will answer you given the real crime reaction to the suspects. Also all crime scene detail and environment would be provided to you without the actual photograph (that would be provided after I review the actual case file to you)

Hit and Run Murder

On an afternoon in December, a woman heard a female voice calling for help not far from her home, the woman followed the female voice and eventually entered into a clearing on a heavily wooded area. She saw a girl, with her jean short and panty pulled down on her ankle, with her leg spread open, her top have been ripped off and pull over the shoulder and her bra was hanging on a nearby tree. The girl is obliviously has been raped and left in the area, she is so weak that she can only mumble a few word, and one of those words are "Help me Please"

She cannot say her name or pretty much anything else, she was in shock, she have a big gash over her head and bruises all over her body, she is naked and blood gushing out from her head. The woman flag down a nearby car on her way to get a towel for the poor girl and the driver and his 3 companions called the Police and Ambulance.

It will be another 2 hours, however, before Diana, the poor girl that has been raped, before the ambulance reach the scene.

5 Miles away from where Diana was found, there lies a mangled bike on the side of a dirt road, next to the bike was a woman shoes, a strip of hair and blood stain, the gravel along the dirt road has been spread evenly as if a car drift thru and drive out, there are also an acceleration mark leading to the mangle bike, suggesting the bike was intentionally rammed by the car.

It does not take long for the investigator to put 2 and 2 together and figure out this bike belong to Diana and she was rammed off the road, dragged into the car, and transporting her 5 miles to the secluded clearing and was raped there.

Despite heroic effort for the rescuer and the doctors, Diana died the next day on the operation table.

Victim - Diana

Diana was a 23 years old girl from out of town, she has just graduated from College, she is outgoing, and outdoorsy, she enjoy the nature, and she is athletic and fit.

She is 5 foot 4 tall, weighted 110 pounds, slim build, with long blond hair and big blue eyes, she stands out in the crowd, she was beautiful, in contrast to what was left of her after the senseless assault.

She is in town to visit her sister, which live in the area, the area is a famous vacation spot and Diana and her parent were all visiting and live with Diana's sister house.

Last Seen

She was last seen by her boyfriend, Michael at 4 pm, at Michael's home, Diana biked there from her home 7 miles away to invite Michael to dinner the next day. Diana eager to go home before sundown and Mike offer her a ride back home, Diana refused and biked out of Mike House, Mike last seen Diana riding her bike toward her home and got up onto the highway, and afterward, the next time anybody sees Diana would be her lying on her back after being raped and left for dead.

Crime Scenes

There are two crime scenes, 1 where Diana's bicycle was struck near the dirt road, and 1 where Diana was raped and found.

Impact Crime Scenes

The impact had happened on a dirt/service road on a corner flanked by heavily and dense wood area on both side. Diana was hit approximately 1 mile to her home on 4:40pm, the scene was found by a local resident, Diana bike was crushed and mangled on the intersection, and a strand of her hair, her watch and blood was found nearby her bike. Her single shoes was found approximately 1 block further out to the point of impact. There is an acceleration track leading up across from the opposite side of the traffic and leading to the bicycle wreckage.

Collision scene suggest that the car that hit her bicycle was hit intentionally leaving a mark of impact, she was either drag under or her shoe was ejected for a block away from her. The car hit Diana, then U turn and driven toward Diana and pick her up and drove off.

Discovery Crime Scene

Diana was found, with her shorts and panty pulled down and her shirt ripped off and pulled over her shoulder, she was still alive at that point, she was immobilized. She was discovered about 5 miles from the Impact Crime Scene (which is about 6 miles from her home) and she was lay across a tiny opening surrounded with bush, her bra was ripped off of her body and hang by a near tree.

Diana was found by a person who lived nearby, the trail where Diana was found is secluded and leading to a fishing spot.

Cause of Death (COD)

Diana was killed approximately 8 hours after her initial assault, her COD is listed as Internal bleeding due to internal injury, which her type of injury is consistence with an Automobile Accident. Also she has suffered a laceration to her head, tho non-lethal, could have concussion, which explain her initial in-coherent response.

4:25 pm - Diana rode pass a scenic spot where later witness testify a VW Beetle Drove off in the same direction Diana's heading
4:40 pm - Diana was estimated to be hit by a car and presume kidnapped
4:45 pm - The woman heard a female cries and went out to investigate
5:25 pm - 911 call to report the suspected Hit and Run
5:26 pm - Diana's father called 911 on the crash site reporting the detail and kidnapping
5:47 pm - 911 call to report a woman (Diana) was found and injured and has been raped.
6:50 pm - Ambulance Arrived on scene
12:07 am (the next day) - Diana died from Internal Bleeding

A tire iron was found not far from Fred House that match the wound of Diana, however, there are no trace evidence support that tire iron was used in the crime.

Since Cause of death is from internal bleeding from injuries sustained from the Impact - three Lads can be tried for Murder (Man Slaughter? )
* was the victim known to the suspects?
* any toxicology test done on the suspects for Drug & Alcohol?
* All suspects have an alibi?
* the car that was flagged down with three companions, was it the suspect car?

No, the BF have a very solid alibi and the only DNA sample collected from Diana is form a sheet that lay under her when she was being rape, the DNA collected on the sheet would possibly not from the BF and should point to the Killer/Rapist.

Nothing can be collected from Diana can be use to identify anyone involved in the case,

Actually, one crime scene related to Diana being run over and kidnapped. And the other crime scene is where she was found, there are some evidence suggesting Diana was being rape where she was found, and she did not died until she was on the operation table in the local hospital almost 8 hours later.

The tire mark did not match, the suspect vehicle have changed, repaired and repaint the vehicle. But there the bike is consistent of being hit by the front bumper of a VW Beetle, and the Suspect vehicle is a VW Beetle.

There is zero chanCe of involvement of two sets of people in two crimes ( hit&run and rape- murder) which happens on that day. Both crimes was done by same set of people.

I think she was raped/ in car too as her shoe was found 1 mile from accident, as it shows her struggle... plus time difference b/w impact and when Diana was found is too short so she was abducted I think just after 04 25.
plus what caused internal injuries !!! rape can't unless some metal or hard thing is inserted her vagina?
anyway, I think rape is an instrument of distraction.. She was very weak when women 1 found her so I think Diana had been given some poison (if no autopsy has been done) or some other, hard to detect poison.
I also suspect may be the women 1 and 3 'helpers' are involved as ambulance was very late (as it was contacted 17:47 late). The women then might bring towel with chmicals or something to clean the evidence meanwhile.
Those 3 'helpers' might be tracking Diana before. One of them manged to take the shirt of surfer as its normal to go surfing w/o T shirt.
so W1 whne found Diana at 16:45 and stopped 3 'helpers' one of them already had raped her in car. They heard that a woman is coming. They tried to eascape but W1 thought that they are passing by people so she stopped them However, as 911 was contacted late so W1 was also involved.
However, internal bleeing is may be due to some poison/medicine which is nearly untraceable.

I also think due to poison, Diana was not driving well. So accident happened. but out of fear Beetle driven (Irving) didn't contact out of fear.
Steven as mature he is, took Fred shirt but couldn't utilize it properly though and tried to save his brother and dumping Diana body one mile away with Fred shirt.
As pool of blood was found on accident area and COD is internal injuries so she mush have been poisoned.
As similar Iron tire was found near Fred house, so there is another beetle nearby or its not much of evidence.
From that point some other people or single '3 helpers' took her & raped her and droving away or coming back (to remove evidence or plant false one) when W1 saw passing by people. She went away, so either they removed evidence meanwhile as they contacted ambulance late or women 1 is involved too.

4:45 pm - The woman heard a female cries and went out to investigate
5:25 pm - 911 call to report the suspected Hit and Run
5:26 pm - Diana's father called 911 on the crash site reporting the detail and kidnapping
5:47 pm - 911 call to report a woman (Diana) was found and injured and has been raped.
6:50 pm - Ambulance Arrived on scene
12:07 am (the next day) - Diana died from Internal Bleeding

Semen on panty could be from boyfriend as she did go to visit him. That could have been consensual sex, and perhaps her bf also has a biting fetish. He was not tested for bite mark as per report. Semen on the sheet could be the result of just a dirty sheet that was used For sex by someone else totally unrelated to the crime.

There is a strong possibility that Diana was not raped at all, and this was just a hit and run, minus the run because the suspects tried to hide her body.

1.) Bite mark was fresh and perimortem (Fresh enough to see the teeth mark and can be used to comparison)

2.) The blood on the shirt matched Diana, and there are no other DNA can be extracted on the shirt and cannot match it to any suspect, however, Fred's GF testify that Fred own the same shirt.
