Troops take control of Nawagai tehsil: FC
BAJAUR AGENCY, Dec 3 (APP): The security forces have taken control of strategically important Nawagai valley located some 30 kilometers north-west of agency headquarters Khar without facing resistance.

“Area up till Nawagai in restive Bajaur Agency has been secured,” a security official of Frontier Corps told APP. He said road from Torghundi to Nawagai is now under complete control of the paramilitary forces. The security forces have reinforced their position on the strategically important hilltops and mountains and established trenches.

The local dewellers, tribal elders garlanded the troops upon entering Nawagai and accorded warm welcome to them. The tribal people raised white flags as goodwill gesture.

The troops backed by gunship helicopters, artillery and tanks moved to Nawagai after taking control of another strategically Laisam town. According to security officials, the troops entered the tehsil Nawagai without facing any resistance.

The official sources said that those families who had left their homes have been asked to return to their homes.

Meanwhile, a powerful bomb planted at Khar-Nawagai roadside has been defused by bomb disposal squad at Bilalabad.

Regardless, there hasn't been any government presence in these areas for decades and people took advantage of this fact and started abusing Pakistan. All of these areas should not be semi autonomous terrorist enclaves but developed parts of Pakistan.

Vow!!!!!!! There have been few victories like this in the annals of history. The only events that come close is the entry of victoriuous Russian / American armies entering Berlin during WW II!. I guess Nawagai is in the outskirts of Srinagar?

actually third eye or ear wahtever it is does not like the idea that pak army is achieving victories against these terrorist.he would like to see more & more trouble in pakistan.

Capturing or taking controls over volatile regions temporarily, is not significant. Sustaining security and enforcing government's writ in the region is far a bigger task for the Pakistan Security Forces.

Guys Nawagai is a part of Pakistan, has always been and will always be. The special status of the Tribal areas was insituted by Quaid e Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah. Our military and political leaders have tried to "correct" the "mistake" done by the great Quaid.
It is absolutely disgraceful to gloat over Army operations on our own soil and "caturing" pakistani territory. The people of these areas differ with the neo-colonial views of our leadership, but they are as much Pakistanis as any one of us.
By default, with the smae mentality we will be some day gloating over the great victory at Gulberg, Gawalmandi and Gujar Khan.
