Manipuris perform better in select sports because rest of the Indians do not take them seriously, how many Manipuri cricketers are there which is the most popular sport in India? None, because you can't compete with better stocks, just like there are no Manipuri seen in intellectually demanding professions because you are intellectually inferior. Is it too much to sink in your tiny skull?
Now some bigger reality.
You lot are being overrun by Bengalis because clearly Bengalis are genetically, racially, culturally and intellectually far superior than Manipuris and other Northeast subhuman tribes. The same reason why the Native Americans had to give up their land to the European settlers. This Bengalization of the Northeast is inevitable, this is known to everyone, be it the Indian gov or your lot, which is why you repeatedly have to demand protection of your habitat in those funny protests. It's the animals who require protection from humans, not the other way round.
You lot can't breed enough to compete with Bengalis because that's how the nature is, only the fully evolved species survives and grows. That's the reason why subhuman Tribal populations in the Northeast and the Andaman and Nicober islands are decreasing and will keep doing so.
