Kailashahar: One person was killed when Border Security Force personnel fired on smugglers at Laksmipur, a village near the Indo-Bangla International border in North Tripura district about 5 km from here.

A BSF patrol last night challenged the smugglers as they were herding cows into Bangladesh territory when one of them reportedly tried to attack the personnel and was shot dead, BSF sources said.

Villagers, however, claimed that the man killed Mobarak Ali was an auto driver and was shot dead in his own house.

Villagers attacked the patrol with stones injuring a BSF man, the border guards said.

This is such a big shame for the India and its useless BSF that it is even get attacked by its own countrymen for killing a civilian in his own house by shooting. No force has the right to shoot if there are chances for arresting. Here, the victim got killed in his own home. All these barbaric acts should be reported to UN as early as possible.

A special thanks to the villagers for showing the courage and attacked these barbaric BSF members. But unfortunately only one of these barbarians get injured.

Pity on the Indians those who support these barbarians and their barbaric activity.

BSF policy has been very clear and known to the villagers . Any one venturing within a certain distance to the fenced borders , without authorization will be shot on sight. Its the only way to deter unwanted intrusions . But idiot smugglers and still try to cross along with cattle.

They fully know the risk involved but they still attempt .

I meant the villagers claim that the man was shot dead in his house. I am sure his house isnt in the fenced borders
