Featured Tricks of Trade: US Consulate in Karachi funding programs that potentially break diplomatic protocol

All intelligence agencies engage in recruitment of agents through such programs, not just the CIA. In fact, it’s SOP.
It would be incompetency if our our Intel Agencies do not take out the heads of these programs who are receiving these grants, and kill the chain.

2nd of All, U.S. Consulate activities should be down sized across the country and restricted in there movements.

Whatever happened to PTI calls for downsizing US diplomatic presence in Pakistan? After the election, PTI took another U-turn and have said nothing about the subject.

Even if Pakistan takes the steps you mentioned, there will be retaliation, including the shuddering of Pakistan’s consulates in US.

Reliable sources have revealed a dangerous move by the US Consulate Karachi. It has been reliably learnt that under the garb of training, it has planned to map the journalists and teachers from Sindh and Balochistan. According to reports over 200 journalists and 100 teachers would be given so called training.

Ten cities have been selected for said training including Gawader, Turbat and Quetta besides six cities of interior Sindh. The participants of the training would be eventually networked through Social Media and Whatsapp etc to further US interests and narratives. This move is viewed as beyond any Diplomatic norms and mandate, and is in fact a threat to national security.

Sources reveal that US consulate has already released 150k Dollars to Mr. Sabir the Present General secretary of Karachi Press Club. He is being aided by about seven others including Najia Ashar and Afzal Dogar. Reportedly KPC board has not given any approval and it seems it is an act of one individual, and in no way reflects the decision of KPC as a whole. The KPC must investigate this and close the nefarious foreign funded project to safe guard Pakistan and state interests.

The individuals involved must be punished for furthering the nefarious designs of a foreign power. Recently India has been caught red handed in engineering negative perceptions through covertly funded fake accounts and NGOs. This move is no different wherein through covert funding, the people are lured in for serving vested interests. MOFA should also see that foreign missions remain within their bandwidth.

Earlier the US state agencies were found to have been funding foreign academics for recruitment purposes.

This is NOT a new program, having been in place for over a decade, and having trained over 10,000 people. The latest batch is for 125 candidates:

There is no "trick" here. There are many such other programs too, for example:

These programs have helped educational activities to the tune of millions of dollars, with the full support and knowledge of the Pakistan government.

============================================================================

PS: The Guardian story linked is about scientists from North Korea and Iran, and nothing to do with the programs above.

. . .

Again, not a new program, and one that is carried out in conjunction with IBA to the tune of $40 million annually. It is all in the open and known to the government for years.

Just because there is a present climate to intimidate journalists does not mean that all professional development activities be curtailed.

Why do they have massive consulate in isb

Answer:to house hundreds of CIA agents as consular officers

Islamabad has an embassy and not a consulate. Manpower is mutually agreed upon between countries and on a reciprocal basis.

.
Similar activity has been observed with student scholarship programs.

The applicants have the choice of not applying to US scholarship programs and seek opportunities elsewhere. The "problem", if it exists, is so easy to solve.

US was allowed to develop a strong foothold inside pakistan
You really are clueless. It began happening way back in 1950s very soon after Pakistan became independent. The ML rulimg elite jumped head first into the US camp. Droves of Americans descended on Pakistan. Most of what you see in Pakistan today has American print on it [anything else is British]. You look at army SSG, airforce, navy, dams, military cantonments, even the capital Islamabad and the parliamant building is American.

And PAF practically survives on US technology. Ask those in the know what PAF would like without those EFF-Sixteteens.

Oh we have grown up otherwise if it had been up to people like you, pakistan would have been sold along ago or at least the things that matter.
And having a handful of F16s dont guarantee pakistan's survival, its nuclear weapons and not having a no first use policy does.
Pakistan may have started to get westernize after seato however back than it wasnt one sided until shit hit the fan and two political parties started taking turns. If the US really had that kind of foothold since 50s in pakistan would have never been able to develop nuclear weapons. The unchecked foothold that US got was back in PPP era with US agents openly roaming Pakistan and killing Pakistanis, people like Haqqani as Pakistans ambassador, kerry luger bill.

Bhai, the Pakistani atomic program started with US supplied equipment, and US trained Pakistani scientists.

We are talking about the weapons program and not civilian. We all know what happened after that aka pressler amendment.

The decision to make nuclear weapons was a sovereign choice made by Pakistan. Like most decisions, it had pluses and minuses. Only Pakistan decided that the advantages it would gain were more than the disadvantages. How is the US response a problem?

If you took your head out of your a*ss you would know Gen Ayub gave military airbase to CIA near Peshawar, Musharaf had given many PAF bases to USA, Gen Kiani gave assent to US drones attack in Pakistan, Nawaz has literally sold Pakistan into debt. But all this is beyond your puny brain to fathom who thinks a few stupid Americans in Pakistan can bring 220 million country down but 1 million Pakistani's in USA pose no threat to America. You can't have a very high estimation of Pakistani's.

First of all you said US helped Pakistan in its nuclear program which is factually incorrect. Secondly yes Our decision to develop weapons was our own as was for any other country including the US however the hypocrisy that people like you fail to acknowledge is that while it was ok for the US to make them and be the only country to ever use them, it became not ok when others tried to built them and what pakistan was made to go through, was not what US or its european allies or Israel went through.
And now that we have them, it guarantees our survival and not those handful F16s as the other chap suggests.
