Transit without fee granted for transient time!!

you are taking it too lightly, Remember the tista river cross road was built to give india an urgent transit? now this. Seems like they are exploiting it whenever they need. But our govt is acting like slave to them. You pointed out that this is humanitarian cause, I couldn't stop laughing. IS there any natural or some disaster going on there? Remember the cheating of Indian cruel govt during the CIDR, They promised to sell rice, and then you know what they did. Remember the tista water issue? Its time to take a stand and show this narrow minded fags the MIDDLE finger.

Just look at my earlier comment, I have never asked to give any concession to India. But this is only 10000 mt. ton food grain. As you are talking about financial loss thats why I wanted to know how much do you thing Bangladesh government should have got if it would charge India for the transit??? Tripura is very poor state thats why it has been termed as humanitarian but this should not be the case with any other part of India and should be make sure this does not become a continuous process. The road you were talking about I opened a thread earlier about that but what others said that was a temporary road during lean period but that should not have been built secretly to transport electrical equipment.

By the way we discussed too many threads about transit. If you want you can go and have a look into them for more details.

I have no negative attitude to any humanitarian gesture. But can you show me a single act of unselfish and completely humanitarian act by indian govt to bangladesh? Its been 3 years and where is the promised 5 lakhs tonnes rice? Bro in this world relations have to be mutual. You can't just use your neighbouring country for your own good and never stand beside that country when its in trouble. Guess what india is only causing us trouble since our independence. can you deny that? If no, How come you have to be so generous even if it goes against your own good? You have to curve your good gesture to a mad dog, cause it will only bite you,and never treat you as a friend, never.

This is water transit and is available since 1972. Nothing new over here but India is trying to get road transit which they have not got yet and not likely to get it in recent future.

The 1972 water transit agreement calls for delivery through Meghna, Padma and jamuna to somewhere in Assam or Meghalaya. But, the Tripura transit was first allowed transit via Ashuganj river port to transport heavy machines for the Tripura power project. Now, it is being regularized by building a new rail line and a bridge. The question remains if India is paying BD fo the transit. I believe a limited transit may be granted to India, but India must pay.

This is upto the Bangladesh government to move the water deal forward. But unfortunately all our successive government has failed into it. On top of it is not a single transshipment issue but a national issue and involve free water flowing continuously. Dirty politics from Mamata spoiled the earlier deals but hope soon the deal move forward.

you should go for 55:45 deal.

I agree completely with you...Even i was also not aware that the shipment through Tripura happens through BD...Every nation has every right to charge a fee wheather India use road for 1KM or road for 50 KM...If my GOV can dictate the Nepal and BD power transmission line that might be hardly 20-30 KM through India, then of course it is justifiable for BD to demand simillar kind of transit feel from India...

Guys as long you guys keep rationale argument like you have posted facts as of now in this thread, then it will be a good one to even respond...Till the point when some starts arguing about Hindu India and all non sense stuff..

I think BD GOV should put forward a concrete proposal that what are the transit fee or conditions or whatever criteria they want to get fulfilled so that BD will provide secure ininterupted transit of Indian goods through BD.....Then of course negotiation should happen and should be taken forward....If i am not wrong ...then the same thing is happening since last 1 year between the GOV of India and BD...
