i do not have problem with the transit, but give money to bd while using bd route. The title is misleading. To the best of my knowledge transit through water ways is there since 1972 with a very low yearly rate which is if I am not wrong around 10 cr taka only. But up to last year transit through water ways used was given for 5 year terms but last year government decided to give it on yearly basis. Others can shed more light into it. However as Tripura is a poor state and as most of it's population is Bengali we should not be tough onto them. However to deal with India we should not provide any compromise.

so what ? in water transit , they should give money tooThis is water transit and is available since 1972.
This is water transit and is available since 1972. Nothing new over here but India is trying to get road transit which they have not got yet and not likely to get it in recent future.

then they should think about our humanitarian on water issueThey give only 10 cr taka yearly. Indeed this is a very low figure. But for Tripura through one route they have asked it on humanitarian ground. As Tripura is a very poor state we can help them on humanitarian ground and also for sharing same culture. But when it comes to deal with India as a whole we should not provide any compromise to it.
To the point a policy which has been going on for 40 years is very difficult to stop right way. But government has taken a right decision by not renewing the contract for 5 years instead renew it year by year.
then they should think about our humanitarian on water issue
Bro read the news carefully, It includes the land part too. How come you go all the way to agartala through water !!!
You are right. It is up to Ashuganj port through water ways and then 50 km by road. Technically Bangladesh government should get at least the handling fee and damage caused to the road. But here India provided the justification for using the road that they have built it. Still are you sure government wont get the handling fee???
This is for one time only not for permanent use. Just for doing math can you tell me what is your opinion regarding the fee that Bangladesh government should charge for the transhipment of 10000 mt ton food grain??
