A special squad has been tasked with countering the rising incidents of street crime in Karachi.

Trained by Pakistan Army personnel, the squad has 100 police commandos who will patrol on motorbikes. The squad will initially operate in the city’s Korangi district.

District Korangi is also home to one of the largest industrial zones of Karachi where robbers target industrialists, traders and workers.

No need new squads for God sake just allow / authorize police to kill goons of political and religious parties to get money by showing guns.

I am sure, deployed squad was under training for last six months. Shoaib Siddle had no say at that.

The squad is well trained as per new tactics to handle street crimes as compare to old & fat belly Chachas & mobile squads who have to arrange fuel for routine patrolling firstly from citizens. This squad is deployed only in one area of Korangi district. Seems like, most of young constables will be trained in similar strategy and will be deployed throughout the city in different phases. No new budget is provided as it was already allocated hence, change.

I am not debating the timing or the decision maker. It was a general comment. As a citizen I would love to have every single law enforcement person to be highly trained not just a small squad.

Idky why it seems to me that the business owners and especially the industries owners of that area might be bearing some of the cost of this because they really want law and order stability in that area for their business to thrive

because Police is failed to stop Street crimes in Karachi , Sindh police needs a complete overhaul ..

Money is not the only problem, they already have trainers. Police high ups or the interior ministry needs to come up with a training syllabus compatible with the present day challenges and assign the best people within the police department for training purposes. If they don't have any, they can borrow from the army, besides physical training is just one component.

If you look at the history of Sindh/Karachi Police, you'll find many such "special squads" created over last 3 decades, where did they all go? after a few months, all these "highly trained" squads will be assigned bodyguard duty of some fucking corrupt politician, judge or police officer with latest new equipment.

While IK is doing so many good things, he should immediately withdraw all government provided bodyguards to politicians, judges and police high command. How can anyone justify providing people paid bodyguards for the ones who are supposed to make our lives safer?

That is the case where top brass comes into play but unfortunately, you know how it works. People use to highlighted Punjab more but I can say, Sindh Police tops all of them in this regard. Most of these officers are seen roaming around Bilawal House due to many reasons and then, PPPP used the favour wisely. A non politicized I.G can only do that.
