Traditional Dresses of South Asia

Yes but don't you think that a salwar is both fashionable and comfortabl, ask any women today and she will agree specially the ones who work.

I don't like Salwar for I remain a saree fan..but its the women who have the final say. Its a welcome move that in many corporates women are expected to wear saree atleast one day of the week and in Kerala many institutions like schools insist that the female teachers wear saree. Also I observed that female IAS IPS officers always stick to saree.

First of all, my vote (although its not a poll) is for Assamese dress.

However, It is not as simple as it is depicted. Inside Assam also, there are many varieties of dresses amongst various ethnic groups.

For example, the mainstream Assamese dress (women) is Mekhela Sador (a variety of the Indian Saree, but in two separate pieces unlike one piece of of the Saree). Here it goes:
