It's the first step. If the economy was stronger the government probably could have pushed harder, but at this point this is better than nothing. Once you get the initial steps in place, get the documentation in order (get more traders registered etc). it'll be easier to increase the rates down the road.

Old habits die hard!!! Even alcohol was banned in stages during the beginning of Islam!!!! When the two-thirds of the Pak economy have been being undocumented, unregulated and untaxed ever since, it'd take time to prepare the mindsets of the folks to the very "reality" of the "legal" taxation by the "legitimate" state....

You Know Shah Khalid Above Made A Good Suggestion Instead Of CNIC Purchases Above Rs 50000 Should Be Through Cross Cheques.

That Would Help In Documentation and Also Create Ease For Traders And Not Just Cross Cheque Payment Through Mobile Banking Or Payment Gateways Can Help Even Further.I Think FBR Should Sign MoU With Some Fintech Companies
