New Delhi, Jan 21 (PTI) A top Indian Mujahideen (IM) operative and an alleged close associate of the outfit's founder Yasin Bhatkal, was tonight arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from Darbhanga in Bihar.

The operative, identified as Mohammed Danish Ansari, son of Mohammed Zafeer Ansari and a resident of Chakjora village (under Laheriasarai police station area) in Darbhanga, was arrested by the sleuths of the agency.

Investigation Agency (NIA) from Darbhanga in Bihar. The operative, identified as
Mohammed Danish Ansari,
son of Mohammed Zafeer
Ansari and a resident of
Chakjora village (under
Laheriasarai police station area) in Darbhanga, was
arrested by the officials of the
agency. Sources said a non-bailable
warrant had been issued
against him by a special
National Investigation Agency
(NIA) court in Delhi last year. Security agencies had been on
the trail of Danish Ansari as
they claim that he used to
provide shelter to Bhatkal
who is allegedly hiding in
Pakistan. Danish Ansari was also
wanted by the Delhi Police in
a terror-related case it is
probing.

Gurgaon: An e-mail claimed to be from Indian Mujahideen, has threatened a repetition of Mumbai carnage, this time in Delhi.

The e-mail received by the manager of Leela Hotel, at Gurgaon's Ambience Mall, was sent by an email belonging to Indian Mujahideen.

Email received from the id indianmujahideen ***********, which read 'now it's Delhi's turn after Mumbai,' threatened to blow the hotel with explosives.

After a complaint from the hotel's Chief Security Office (CSO) Lt Col (retd) Rajesh Tiwary on Sunday, the DLF phase-2 police registered an FIR under IT Act against the unknown accused.

Good job by the NIA. Hope they can weed out all its operatives quickly, so that this nascent terrorist organization doesn't morph into yet another major headache. On serious note: Let the NIA frame the charge and judiciary give the verdict. No need to jump the gun.. We should have USA like agencies which can produce enough evidence to bring a case to final conclusion (in proper time).
