Top Gun: Maverick | NEW Official Trailer

From what I remember, that the SR-72 was suppose to be a testing probably at the beginning of the movie. The F-14 which as you saw and does look like the F-14 and remember in first trailer at the end there was an F-14 being shown. So they are bringing it back for nostalgic reason.

Yeah but the problem is that the F-14 which only the Iranians have is going up against the Russians which doesn't make sense unless its stolen and flying towards Russia or near them. I don't know. Probably changed the plot and decide to make some changes.
Gambit would know, but would Navy pilots test USAF planes? Got a feeling that Maverick won't be testing a darkstar but stealing one.

And the shot with the su-57 in the background surely can't be from an f-14 which are twin seaters (unless we're somehow seeing from the back of the pilots seat). The angle of the wing is wrong where it meets the fuselage, an f-14 in swept back mode has a straight line from the wing tip through to the wing glove/fuselage. But I could be wrong.

Nope, that’s a F-14. Have sat in it in a Museum to know what that view is.
Fair enough. Doesn't make sense that a navy pilot would be flying an experimental USAF black jet anyway.

That's cool.

I had sat on a Blackhawk many time and all I see is a row of seat in the rear view :)

its a movie, it doesn't need to have those fine tunes, for average joe its a fighter

The Russians are back as the bad guys again it seems!

"I have to admit I wasn't expecting an invitation back".
"They're called orders, Maverick"

So! the story is, a retired USAF pilot, who was in retirement and driving motorbykes, comes back to teach the "best of the best"

Muslims and Middle Easterners sigh a collective sigh of relief to not be the villains for change.

For a man pushing 60, Tom Cruise looks like in top shape.

One minor correction: Not a USAF, but an USN pilot!

Yes, Navy pilots can test USAF planes if they want. I don't believe Maverick is stealing one because it shows him getting ready in a spacesuit type that you usually see on pilots ready to fly in U-2s or SR-71s. So its really a test. The plane that shows Goose's son and probably with Maverick since its a two seater so definitely the F-14. Its bringing all the nostalgic back.

Yeah I just watched CW Lemoine do a breakdown of the trailer confirming its an f-14, but I took SQ8's word for it.

Seems like there's going to be some plot holes big enough to drive a burning T-90 through, but I'll still go and watch it.
