The Milgem program is interesting. Recently, a PN official said its a mix of 'corvettes and frigates', which makes me think the first 3 are Ada and 4th is LF-2400 (PN called it the first ship of Jinnah-class frigates).

McInerney was built in late 1970s, and even after the refurbishment, may not carry on after 2024 (i.e. when the first Jinnah-class frigate enters service).

That 1:1 with the Jinnah-class and PNS Alamgir is interesting -- and it wouldn't be surprising either.

But the big question re: Jinnah-class is if it'll be a one-off or is the idea to use the Jinnah-class as a means to gradually expand the frigate fleet (post-2030)?

These are two vastly different outcomes.

If it's a one-off, then besides replacing PNS Alamgir, it could be an experimental platform for MTC to develop its SAM and AShMs. If it isn't a one-off ship, then the PN may be planning to expand the 2,300+ ton fleet from the currently planned 12 (4 Type 054A, 4 MILGEM, 4 F-22P) to 16+ ships by 2040.

I think PN will be going for 4 MILGEM upgraded/ modified for PN to accommodate PN requirements. these mods could include anti air VLS [unknown type], Pakistani SSM and Chinese CIWS 1130 and may be Chinese 76mm main gun. fusing these sensors with existing Turkish sensors, radars and electronics.

in parallel PN will be working on for a new class of frigate called Jinnah class to go live by 2023/2024. that gives 5 years to design, test and develop technologies/ technical expertise. i believe Jinnah class will be build on top of existing platforms from turkey so it will not be LF2400 or I class etc.

Not the same as PN, but KSEW had manufactured one-off ships such as F-22P, the 3rd Agosta 90B, etc.

Sure, the PN itself procured several of each type, but if the Jinnah-class frigate is a MILGEM Ada variant (LF-2400 or otherwise), then it's technically still in a series (3 corvettes + 1 frigate), but with a one-off production at KSEW.

As for experimenting, if it's the LF-2400, you could use the extended sea test period to test new weapons as well until it's formally commissioned. So MTC can use the Jinnah-class to test NESCOM's weapons in the future; I'd be surprised if we don't see improved versions of the Harba AShM, and then there's also the indigenous naval SAM.

It will be a shame if jinnah class is lone ship..post 2028 we should build a jinnah ship every 2-3 years so we end up with 3-4 ships 2040..otherwise the TOT will be for nothing as we saw in agosta..we never build upon that experience
