What's new

TOP ARMED FORCES OF THE WORLD IN 2012!!

I don't really understand your question. Are you saying that the drone strikes are not a violation of Pakistan sovereignty because the GoP permits them? If so, I agree. What I am saying is that ISAF could mount more "boots on the ground" missions against the Taliban sanctuaries in Pakistan except that it doesn't want to violate Pakistani sovereignty to do so. My reply was to the poster boasting about how powerful the Taliban was. I am saying that the Taliban only seems powerful because it hides behind Afghani and Pakistani civilians and YES, behind the Pakistani ISI as well. It is only the moral self-restraint of the ISAF (and the collusion of the Pakistani PA and ISI) that allows the Taliban to get away with this tactic. So, in a sense, the success of the Taliban in fighting the ISAF can be attributed to respect for the strength of Pakistani forces and the unwillingness of the ISAF to fight an all-out war with both Pakistan and with the Taliban. Ultimately, the PA is the protector of the Afghan Taliban and the reason it has survived.

The violation of our sovereignty can't be done without our retaliation or permission. Either, you have our permission to do so, or we retaliate.

Our intelligence and army may be aiding the Afghan Taliban, but for a reason. We see it in our national interest. Just as how you do whatever hits your mind to serve your national interest.

Japan is ahead of S Korea by far. Even today Japan can squish South Korea like a bug.

but you should consider the fact that they are a "self defense force".......atleast in theory!!.......and most of their weapons are us made who can backstab them any time!!

Turkey has NEVER developed a single fighter aircraft, if I am not wrong. British Tornados are in service in multiple countries at the moment, not to mention EF (Britain can build national fighter aircraft on its own too, it's much less costly to share the burden with its coreligionists and Western European NATO members and neighbours).
Japan can also build multiple fighter aircrafts as it has past experience in this field, and also it developed the Mitsubishi F-1 in the recent past.

In simple words, Japan and Britain both have greater experience, more money, more researchers, more industrial output, and therefore, greater capability to design and mass-produce their own state-of-the-art fighter aircrafts if they are embargoed by the whole world. Turkey is zero in front of Japan and Britain.

Here's some introductory materials for inattentive youngsters to read.

Any member who just glances at the two links above can realize the immense gap between Japanese/British aerospace industry and Turkish industry. Except some teenagers with pimples ranting on these silly fora, nobody on earth would even dare to speak such utter nonsense as "Turkey is stronger than Japan/Britain militarily".

Not there YET! While Britain and Japan has dozens of indigenous engines for every type of vehicle they use, and they have had them for decades.

Not there YET! While Britain and Japan has had those capabilities for decades. Everybody knows about British missile capability, don't forget that Japan has launched probes to moon, other planets, launched its own satellites etc.

NOT like Britain. Britain developed and tested its OWN nukes. It was the third country in the whole world to test its own nuclear device. Japan has had the capability, and can produce nukes in less than months, but because of its painful memory from Hiroshima and Nagasaki does not pursue that path.

Turkey has NO nuclear weapons production capability.
Turkey is the same as Belgium/Netherlands. Just store NATO's nukes at NATO bases on your territory because your country is weak enough, you need NATO "protection".

Not surprised. "Satellite Launch Vehicle".

No aircraft carrier.

No LPD/LHD yet.

Nuclear powered submarines are only possessed and operated by strongest countries in the world. Thank you for agreeing with me. Turkey does not belong there.

No destroyers in Turkish navy. Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force operates heavy destroyers, frigates, LHDs, and actually built tens of aircraft carriers (you know those "ships" that carry squadrons of aircrafts for "power projection") in the past. British naval history is not much different in this regard.

Nobody thinks Australia, with a larger economy than Turkey, is a world military power stronger than Britain and Japan. Turkey with its small economy compared to Japan, Britain and Australia can not be considered stronger than Britain or Japan.

Silly rant. This "brotherhood" does not allow you to sign mutual defense treaty with Iran and Pakistan. You are still a member of NATO. When you leave NATO, and join Iran, Pakistan in mutual defense treaty obligations, then your silly rant may have some validity.

Yeah a reminder there, The Panavia was ALSO another Join venture between several Europeun countries simply cause Britain on itself has not the neccesary funding and technology to built so. The only nation in Europe that actually made an Fighter jet on its own was France and that cost them about 40 Billion dollars and alot of time! And thats the exactly why France is above Turkey. And Turkey is most likely to the same, We are strongly considering to join the KF-X and Gripen NG Project and if all those fail we will simply make a long term indeginious TF-X Fighter jet just like France. And even all of what you wrote is true i never EVER Claimed that Turkey was more advanced in technological Terms then Britain or Japan! So your comment is just rubbish in the first place! My list is about Current military equipment and weapens not Technological capability thats something entirely different!

No ofcourse Turkey didnt had the neccesary funding in the 20th Centrie to make an indigenious Engine of some kind because we didnt had any colony to take it away from! Fact is we are a self-made country with a good economie. Japanese technology is unmatched no doubt about that but then again i never denied it infact on my list i even stated there technology is unmatched.

Nuclear Submarines have much different purposes, Its mostly used in long mission in far harsh areas, The medditerenian is not that issue. Turkey already has enough naval bases such as in cyprus so turkey does not have a requirement for such vessel because naval bases are close enough.

Yeah see yet again your missing so many factors here, Your talking about there navy but what about there Land forces? or perhaps Air forces? This is exactly the reason why i said that Globalfirepower is missing so many factors and your no different. And BTW japan doesnt even have nuclear bombs so how can you compare that against Turkey? Turkish air force F16s have the capability to carry 40 B61 Thermonuclear bombs from Incirlik base, Japan still lacks that capability to.

Pathetic delusional fool. Your talking about joining Pakistan and Iran in these factors yet isnt Pakistan currently receiving funding from our dear NATO pall USA? No offence but clearly you have clue what the hell your talking about. And personnaly Pakistan is much closer to Turkey then iran! Ask the Pakistanis here!! Turkey and Pakistan have much more to offer each other and have a much better and bigger history together.

You are not getting his point. His assertion is that Taliban is not a potent military force. It stands no chance against USA in a fair contest. And neither USA is tyring to exterminate Afghanistan's populace. If this was the objective then USA would have won long time ago and Afghanistan would have been a wasteland.

Taliban survives because of its roots in Pakistan. And ISAF is not willing to expand war in to Pakistan because ISAF and Pakistan are not at war with each other and neither any party is interested, regardless of political and interests based differences.

This is the crux of his argument. And he is absolutely correct.

Turkey - most powerful military of Middle East and Central as well as Western Asia, 2nd largest army and overall military of NATO after US, excellent military training and very well trained according to NATO standards, a very large (over 1,055,000 overall military) and powerful combined force of army (514,000 active, 380,000 reserve and 144,000 paramilitary), navy (best in Middle East and the Muslim world, and air force (best in Middle East), one of the largest Eurasian countries with 75 million people, largest economy in Middle East and in the Muslim world being 17th economy in the world in GDP nominal and 15th in GDP PPP, 8th largest military budget in the world, technologically and in military weapons industry the best in Middle East and in the Muslim world as it has access to NATO weapons and produces 60% of it's own weapons and has future impressive military production projects like a native tank based on the German Leopard model jointly created by South Korea, a unique and strategically as well as geographically important country and considered a bridge between East (Asia and Russia) and West (Europe and the Americas) being near Middle East, one of the few Muslim majority (99% Muslim) countries but a secular democracy, has great influence in Middle East and in the Muslim world due to it's long legacy of Turkic empires ruling over most of Muslim lands especially from the previous Ottoman Empire (1299-1923 ruling over three continents of Arabia and Middle East, North Africa, Anatolia/Asia Minor of current day Turkey and Southeastern Europe/Balkans as well as Caucasus), part of the NATO nuclear sharing policy and possesses 90 nuclear weapons (40-45 of them under the personal use and disposal of the Turkish air force and navy), is capable of producing it's own nuclear weapons with a growing economy and military technology, has signed a deal with neighbouring Russia to open Turkey's first nuclear power plants in the next few years after neighbouring Iran's attempts to acquire these weapons to maintain a balance of power in the region, part of G20 major economies in the world, produces home appliances, TVs (first in Europe), food, weapons, automotives 5th in Europe and 16th in world, textiles, very attractive tourist location, etc.

So yeah, Turkey is without a doubt the most powerful Muslim majority country. And in the near future it will place itself in top 5 without any doubt.

EDIT: WITHOUT BEING DEPENDENT ON OIL, in fact importing all of our oil and gas. So for those who still try to compare Turkey's economy with UAE, Qatar, Iran etc have some reality check.
