I don't hate but in my view and from wat i have heard from others that are airfoce pilots in the US af and in Paf india is not one of the top best airforces in the world again iam not talking about numbers iam talking about pilot traning ,skills,response time ,accuracy etc.. sorry to bust the dream bubble

To really be a top contender you have to be able to make your own fighters in large enough numbers. Because of the nature of European aerospace I'll include Germany, Italy and the UK in this list.

This gives us- USA, Russia, France, PRC, UK, Germany and Japan.

USA (USAF/USN is the obvious Choice for #1
Russia has the next highest number of 4/4.5 gen for #2
The PRC has the third highest number of 4/4.5 #3
Japan is next in line for #3
France edges out the UK for #5
The RAF of the UK comes in for #6
Italy comes in for #7
Germany's Luftwaffe is #8
Holland is a darkhorse for #9

Now we are on to other modern air forces, some of them are larger than those listed above, but they do not manufacture.

Israel edges out India for #10
India is a solid #11
South Korea is #12

If Pakistan gets 100-150 J10B ,and 300 JF17 thunder then it an remain in close with india else it will fall below Saudi Airforce and UAE air force in 3-6 years time
We lack in Heavy transport for troops and equipment and helicopter and bombers
The 18 Block C/D F16 will be a welcomed addition to our Airforce
& 25 JF17 Thunders that will be completed end of 2010

After MRCA , India will be better airforce then Britain

China will keep moving up to maintain its force @3 , since it has so many new project under the pipe including stealth planes
Once they have stealth they could be contending for top post

Saudis are negotiating 150 F15 from US, and they have 150 Euro fighters in pipe line on top of the already 300 planes they have tornadoes and Strike eagles

i might be wrong but as far as i know only having high tech or advanced fighter jets don't make an air force as one the best or gives it an edge over an other.
Some of the other significant determinants in my personal view are

Skilled Pilots
Crash record of the air force
Experience to operate under different conditions

Please contribute some other points which u think are also very important & please do watch the video which can help to establish that a Pilot having ingenuity can do wonders with a plane which is not even considered capable enough of achieving which the pilots intends to do

that's right guys its not the big bird that counts but the one controlling its reign counts a lot more ( Just made that up by my self ), so please observe such data and then suggest which should be the best air force or one the best keeping aside personal affiliations.

You make some good points but Holland ? I have my doubts on the RAF also. Rest is pretty good.

yes we are doing great with our existing fleet
but I am looking forward to

Our pilots can do exceptionally well don't count them out againt any airforce , but this is just a un biased look -

All the above air forces are superior to Pakistan.

Swap Pakistan and Singapore position and UAE air force is Way better than ancient north Korean air force.
