Actually the obvious differences occured between Minh Hương and Vietnamese very in later period, anyway I can't point fingers at Vietnamese own policy but for hundred of years in the past both Minh Huong and Kinh didn't have such man-made conflicts.

Trinh Hoai Duc, a Nguyen Dynasty mandarin died long time ago and he is Minh Huong descendant, that says Minh Huong people were his ancestors that already 300 years ago when the Minh Huong arrived to Southern Vietnam that before the French colonize Vietnam, about the time Manchus established Qing Dynasty.
