UMD-led researchers assess pivotal cultural differences among countries and why these exist

Very interesting findings ...especially meaningful when we as a nation are unnecassarily flogging and self-flagellating ourselves.

Cant say of the others but India & Pak among countries where adherence to rules is strong simply does not make sense.

I was just about to say that.

What about countries like Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia? Places like those I'm pretty would more "rulebound" then Pakistan

. .
What exactly do they mean by 'tightest' or 'rulebound'? Does that mean which country has the strictest laws? Or are we talking about how these laws are implemented?

. . .
even if the rules can be set in a very stringent way, after all it is just a matter of enforcement. i dont think the malaysian people here very much in obeyance of rules and regulations although we have pretty good inherited british style law, just because of the lacking in enforcement power by goverment staff and kakitangan collusion , since you can bribe your way out secretly if you have got enough $$$

Is it for the most rigid and most flexible index??

Im sure all the questions they asked pakistanis were about india hence we ended up being rated the tightest country in the world..reality is opposite...given the cultrail diversity of Pakistan..6823 respondents in 33 nations is a very small figure to measure such across such a wide specturm.
They should have surveyed in percentrage of population from top 10 major ethinic groups in each country to reach a proper conclusion. Looks this was just a get it done type assignment or group project..

Oooooooooooh yeah across the world, we have got first place
I agree. With local and international terrorism within the Nation, due to its cultural and geological situiations, we are bonded to be in trouble like this.

Am I not surprised, the way we are coping with it is too unbelieveable. A small, new, plant trying to survive hurricane for years is a great achievement.

Might be off the topic, but still true.
