Yeah, the Turkish Air Force is certainly top 10.

Turkish Air Force maintains technological and numerical superiority over many nations. All these fanboys adding "India", "Saudi Arabia", "UAE" "South Korea", into the top 10 but no mention of Turkish Air Force which is one of the most technologically advance, combat experienced, and largest Air Forces in the world.

Look at one of the list made by a member here.

This is based on combat experience and pilot skill, not on technology and strength. Strength means technology and numbers, not skills and experience. Both Russia, China, and recently India have incorporated state-of-the-art combat systems into their air forces as well as major types of aircraft.

My personal assessment for technology and strength would be:

1. USA

--- big gap ---

2. Russia

3. China

4. France

5. UK

6. India

7. Israel

8. Saudi Arabia

9. UAE

10. South Korea

Turkish Air Force is superior than (in terms overall technology, pilot quality/experience, number of air craft) South Korean, UAE, Saudi Arabian, and Indian Air Force, and arguably is better than in terms of technology, experience, size, than Israeli Air Force.

Considering Turkish Air Force will be operating the F-35 and will be manufacturing F-35 under license by 2013 is another reason why Turkish Air Force is superior it is rapidly advancing. Turkey also announced by 2020 they will manufacture their own fighter jet at least on par with the F-35.

German Air Force
F-4F 51
Tornado ECR 34
Tornado IDS 82
Typhoon/Tandem 55

French Air Force
Dassault Mirage 2000 185
Dassault Mirage F1 65
Dassault Rafale 56

Turkish Air Force have 210 f-16 block 50+ 30 block 30 also 50 F-4E (upgraded similar to f-15e except air to air capability). I think we can compete with these countries. After coming of F-35s Italy and Turkey will surpass France and Germany.

just to point out,we will see a dramatic upgrade in paf strength in the next 2,3 years......

jf17 blk2,3 with production rate of over 50/year alonge j10b induction in mid 2013 and complete upgradation of f16s by that time aswell [maybe our 18 blocked f16s mightbe returned and we order the rest 14 blk52+ aswell] , not to mention our awacs, refuellers and standoff missiles :agree:

our total fighter numbers would also have increased from 500 fighters:woot:

Thats good what will be the total price of upgradation if f16 and also how much will each j10 cost what will be its configurations will it have aesa also in it

.
f16 upgradation kits have already been bought , and some f16s are undergoing upgradation in the u.s , others are undergoing upgradations in turkey, as we speak

j10b has a definate aesa , not sure on price tag, however it will be the best deal around, maybe under 30 mil. a piece

We should just give up since we have technical inferiority complex.. :undecided:

And the fact that the PLAAF is a very weird term and takes too long to say.

The strategic bomber is what we lagged most behind for sure.

They are now working on next-gen strategic bomber i think it is the H-10 based on the original scrapped project of H-8.

H-8 bomber - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The new stealth bomber (H-10 or H-8) is not based off the 4 engine H-6 variant.

It's a flying wing similar to the B-2A.

Having higher-end fighters doesn't mean you are better than an air force that doesn't. Turkey as of now only has a handful of F-35s, and production will be slow at first, meaning its bulk of F-16s and F-4s will still remain in service.

Saudi Arabia, however, has all of its air force comprised of F-15E Strike Eagles, Tornadoes, and Eurofighters. So is UAE. Numbers count in this case.

J-10B will be slightly more expensive than J-10A. J-10B incorporates TVC, AESA, and plasma stealth. It will serve as an air dominance fighter in the PAF.
