They are small thats why they are included as the richness of any country is measured in terms of per capita income not the population or gdp..

India will most probably be the 2nd or 3rd largest, not first..

LOL Even the rational Indian members won't bite this line, although I think there's a possibility.

Citi has probably more rationale people then you have met in your life. so when they say it matters. Off course there could be several things which could prevent India from reaching there like a war. But otherwise except for major exceptions India would be there on top by that time.

damn it !!! in economics you dont know what will happen in the next fiscal year and you are talking about 2050 that is not a good sign you see even a slightest of shift in the consumer demand can change the whole equilibrium of demand and supply just in a similar fashion there are 1000's of such factors

Yet some known troll is predicting something in 2050 for people to troll about.

India economy will stay where it is, with rupee falling, FDI falling, and debt increasing, and growth rate falling

2 decades ago no one would have ever thought India will become such an economic power, owning British brands, getting militarily more powerful and advanced, getting self-reliant.

Same in case with China, which completely changed the dynamics of the world. No one would have ever imagined China forcing US to back off (look at Philipines case).

These predictions never impresses me.

India is the same as it was 2 decades ago. I'm not sure what you mean?

How often do predictions coming from these smart economists come true? The poster is totally convinced that India will be the biggest economy in 3 decades from now. The marijuana must be damn good heh Korean....
