Top 10 mobile apps by monthly active users in China

WeChat is not just a communication app, if you live in the west, it's useless, if you're in China, you can't live without it. You can use Wechat to transfer money instead of wire transfer of banks, you can also pay the fees of water, electricity, Internet and phones, and what it surprises me most is that many restaurants in Beijing accept Wechat payment, even very small restaurant in remote areas. Wechat is definitely a revolution. Now my company uses Wechat as official communication tool, when there is any information to deliver among different departments, we use Wechat.
With Wechat, Alipay and Baidu map, we call live in China without any cash!

Even this small eatery selling noodle on the street accepts Alipay!

The interest I receive per day from Alipay's fixed deposit and demand deposit can buy me 2 meals! And I saved several thousand yuan with the discounts offered by Alipay in 2015.

Everyone use Whatsapp here. No one use other messengers even Viber or Line. This is why we only have Whatsapp as choice. But I think Wechat is more secure than Whatsapp..

Check Shanghai's GDP. And not all people use alipay. My mother and my father don't(My mother is learning now). According to alipay's 2015 report, I spent 40000yuan via alipay. And I have *^%^* yuan in alipay's fixed account and current deposit account, with 5% and 2.7% interest respectively. (Interest rate varies daily) I don't have a single yuan in any bank.

I guess some business use Alipay as well, so the average user spending through Alipay is unusually high. You guys make me feel broke, let me find a corner to weep for a while!

I mean outside!
But I know in a lot of western countries, wifi has limit data. In China, no limit at all. Mine is 100mb, 720 yuan per year.

Don't know about other countries, but the internet connection in the US is usually unlimited, but I have to pay much more than you do for my 100 mb.

Looks like US is way behind China in e-payment. People here are still using credit cards (yes, those with the magnet straps from good old time), even check books. I haven't seen anyone use their smartphone to pay anything yet. Wait, are we supposed to be the first world country?

I have studied in Australia before, limited internet connection is chosen by most family there since unlimited one is too expensive.

I use great wall broadband, very cheap.
China mobile's is more expensive, for example

What do you mean with secure? I think different goverment access your messages through different apps. No need to say which app from which goverment. The only messenger that is maybe spy free might be threema.

How about the rate of return from Alipay, the fixed deposit? I have some investment in JD Finance, the rate of call is about 4.87%, comparing to 0.35% of commercial banks. I can withdraw them by T+1 days.

Fixed deposit of Alipay
One year 4.83%
Two years 5.53%
U can decide your interest rate, as long as borrowers accept it.

I'm a tad surprised that QQ Music is not among the Top Ten but it must be close to it, I believe.

Good for u!
ele.me first started from a small website designed for students in my university.
It's amazing to witness such an internet startup developing towards a national brand!
I also have experienced some months of such life, everyday was exciting!
U know what I mean.:enjoy:

Apple Pay

Android Pay

The great thing about linking it to a credit card is you can still use the cash back rewards. I have some over 5%.

Concerning e-commerce, US is light years behind.

I have tried several hundred restaurants...
I even ordered hot pot one day.
And they did deliver a real hot pot!
Now I don't order very often for my meals, but I still use them a lot for BBQ at night, dessert after dinners, and sometimes we just cook only a couple of dishes, so will order another 1-2 big dishes.
