Top 10 cities for 2012: Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel

I think the people at Lonely Planet have been smoking some serious drugs.

This list is absolute crap. There are way better cities for travel than the ones on the list. Moth of them would be last on any list of travel.

10. Darwin which is a city in my own country is hardly worthy of being on the list let alone number 10. There are way better Australian cities to visit.

Have to agree with this, my thoughts exactly.

I have never heard of most of these cities in my entire life...

I stayed in bangalore for a two weeks, its good place to live.

But for visitors or tourists, bangalore offers nothing exciting like historical places or breathtaking scenes. There are other cities in India where tourists might be interested.

Bangalore wouldn't top even within India let alone the world. It's a nice place to live. But it doesn't have much to offer for tourists.

Yeah, don't know what these chaps were smoking when they put Bangalore in the list.

2 years ago they listed Newcastle, seems like they get drunk and throw darts at a map or select the top 10 based on the size of the plain brown paper packages.

I have been to London and Istanbul. There is no way London is a better travel city than Istanbul, no fricking way. We got bored in London in 5 days, whereas in Istanbul we wanted to prolong our vacation even more. Really bad list...
