Top 10 Attack Submarines in the world

ahahahhahahah............i swear i was waiting for you to turn up and say that. So says a French patriot.
:P

However i agree that the Suffren alias Baraccuda class should be in the top 10 in the place of Japans Soryu(which is the only sub in the list i disagree with its position).
So will put the French Suffren alias Baraccuda class at number 8 instead of Soryu. However, in this classification we are talking about subs already in operation and with proven track records of Global patrols away from their neighbourhoods.i admit I will still put your triomphant class ahead of Japans Soryu though.

Sir,there has been an ongoing rumor that India will likely to ask for a new SSN to be custom built by Russia when our P.M. Mr.Modi's next month visit to Moscow apart from the 2 Akulas that India is all set to take lease from Russia. So,my question is whether there's a chance that Russia will custom build the new Yasen class for the Indian Navy??
I doubt that "Yasen" class submarines can be sold to anyone, even India. However, I am sure that Russian engineers will provide all possible assistance to India to build its own submarines.

The best attack sub in the world is the Astute class sub. even the us agrees.
@mike2000 is back dont you agree.
'In 2012, during simulated battles with the United States Navy's latest Virginia-class submarine (the USS New Mexico), it was reported that the Americans were "taken aback" by Astute's capabilities. Royal Navy Commander Iain Breckenridge was quoted saying: “Our sonar is fantastic and I have never before experienced holding a submarine at the range we were holding USS New Mexico. The Americans were utterly taken aback, blown away with what they were seeing.” '

the ohio class sub is not an attack sub

Lel,everyone beats the Americans.
The French,the Brits,the Australians... :D

U.S. aircraft carrier and part of its escort “sunk” by French submarine during drills off Florida

The aim of the exercise was joint training with U.S. Carrier Strike Group 12 made by the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt, several Ticonderoga cruisers or Arleigh Burke-class destroyers and a Los Angeles-class submarine, ahead of their operational deployment.

While the fictious political situation deteriorated, the Saphir quietly slipped in the heart of the multi-billion-dollar aircraft carrier’s defensive screen, while avoiding detection by ASW assets.

On the morning of the last day, the order to attack was finally given, allowing the Saphir to pretend-sinking the USS Theodore Roosevelt and most of its escort.

USS Dallas and HMS Illustrious. Anyone want to guess who came out ahead in this exercise?

God didn't save the queen this time:p:.

Exercises are fun, even lowly Sweden kicked American a**, but in a real conflict, bet on the Americans.

wiki says this "During the Péan inter-allied manoeuvres of 1998, Casabianca managed to "sink" the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and her Ticonderoga-class escort cruiser."

Well, neither we nor journalists do not have secret information and accurate data so that we are free to build any hypothesis. The best sub can only be chosen in the battle. But even then it is more likely to be a battle of captains and crews than steel.

One of the best replies I have read on PDF. We only hear sliver of facts released by the concerned militaries. The rest for obvious reasons is kept top secret. We would only find out the truth in battle and even then the human element might prove to be critical factor.

Thus most of what we say is just "blowing trumpets". However given American economic power we would be excused if we assumed they were the class leaders with Russia/UK not too far behind. I expect the Chinese to increasingly make their mark. In another two decades for sure the PLAN will have impressive assets given Chinese economic trajectory over the next two decades.

given the past record, i would have placed my bet on germans, because they are the forefathers with their u-boat, and i think their current sub u-212 class would literally outclass US CBG, but fortunately that will never happen.
