Tokyo Olympic 2021: Discussion and Update

Nothing exce
Nothing just anything related to US just enjoy to see they lost. Anybody else win I will be happy for them. Even I am not buying that I used to from Levis jeans, Timberland, Ford, Dell, anything related to US I am not buying, why? Personnel preference.
Well, gotta hand it to you. You must have a much easier life excluding US products than Americans try to have excluding Chinese products.

Well I am not Chinese. Yes not buying US made you can still survive easily. Basically you still have everything. Haha..... wanted to purchase a Ford Ranger but just reminded myself no US product.

My bad. The "yang" part in your name threw me off. Anyway, I am considering Ford Maverick for my next car. I like gardening and want to extend it, which may warrant a small truck.

Whatever happens from here, China has expanded the number of sports capable of getting golds in the future. Cycling, Rowing, Canoeing, Wrestling, Boxing, Sailing, Athletics, Swimming. China is doing well by having finalists and getting medals in these sports. In previous Olympics, China didn’t even have athletes in many of these sports let alone making finals and winning medals. Even in many team sports, China has a team competing.

. . .
wasn't you who always blame blacks for US high gun crimes/murder rate?? it's only fair for you to exclude their medals as well

Yay for Chinese logic. :rolleyes1:

China didn't invent the lightbulb...so obviously lets ban them from the Olympics. <- :cuckoo:

The only thing that is US made that I kept is the pissing bowl in my house printed America Standard that I can piss on it everyday.

It’s called pure jealousy, the US wins so much you can’t stand it.

People envy successful people, and it’s no different with countries.

Although having a transgender on the team damps the excitement. :(

The Olympics are really going to have a problem putting this genie back in the bottle when future games end up with 50% transgender.

Soon we will be back to the days of women basketball players looking like Cro Magnons.

American car is lousy. You are sure you want to purchase that.

Cars are consumable. In the end, it is all about the cost and the benefit. I am not looking for a perfect car. Just something I am conformable to buy and later conformable to dump.

it was your very own logic man, as if "America is so peaceful and serene", once you take out “blacks killing each other” out of the picture. LOL it's so very typical of you..

Im just pointing out the hypocrisy here

LOL! You suddenly writing posts for me now? What else am I supposedly saying?

Stick to the thread topic please...instead of going on tangents on what I am supposedly saying or meaning.

BTW I have black neighbors who don't want to live in the dangerous inner-city either...so not sure what your logic is other than the perpetual Chinese racist thinking that all black people must be killers so "let's just get of everybody to solve the problem". :rolleyes1: (ala Uighurs)

Oh you sure are pointing out stuff...but hypocrisy isn't it.

CHina did well with its medal haul. Efficiently sweeping medal haul is one thing But for china to be really seen as a sporting nation and reap the soft power benefits of being seen one - it must do well with popular team sports. Thats where the passion of the world is .

Even in US olympic stars dont get that much attention apart from few track starts or occasional swimming or gymnastics sensations. But many ppl here go crazy about american football, baseball, basket ball. Thats where millions are, TV ratings are and passions are.

India/Pakistan barely get any medals but alteast 20% of the world see their sachin tendulkar or imran khan as sporting legends. Pele, maradona, ronaldo are recognized by like 80% of the world. Which chinese sportsman has any such recall ?

Better to focus on lawn tennis rather than table tennis and games like cricket, soccer, basketball, field hockey.

Lv Xiaojun is a legend already due to his lifting. Who cares about team sports when you are literally one of the strongest people on Earth?

And who the **** watches field hockey lmao people watch ice hockey.
Competition is getting tougher. China will need to re-tool team. But badminton, even if you win the majority, is not a good value proposition when it comes to medals.

China has to expand more into swimming and track. With a Chinese running under 10 secs in 100m and the medals in swimming, it is a good start. Need a greater volume of competitive athletes and swimmers.

With sports like badminton and TT, you only have a handful of medals after a grueling tournament. With swimming, you can generate 10 times the amount of medals. Michael Phelps won 8 gold medals by himself.

If China wants to pass the US in totals on consistent basis, it needs to do better in the sports that create the largest opportunities for medals. You can't spot the US 30-40 medals in swimming alone and then try to catch in a dozen other sports.

It's purely political. Certain countries vastly expanded the number of swimming medals by political influence despite the fact that some events can't adequately distinguish specialists i.e. 50 m vs 100 m swim and some events being utterly useless such as butterfly stroke.

When you see sanda (combat), wushu (routine), power lifting, 5 m diving, 25 m rifle, etc. Then you know that China has really won at sports.

China will win at sports when the government doesn't have to issue edicts to ban extracurricular academic training and force school children to have more physical exercises. Before that, it is just the professional Chinese athletes that win sports. Regular Chinese still suffer the hunker backs, nearsightedness, etc, which are usually caused by lack of exercises, long time sitting and excessive screen time.
