To Indian members: which bike to buy

I think dominar is good bike...bajaj reliability vis-a-vis Japanese bikes has increased significantly in the recent years...
Akula has not hit the market yet...but tvs is partnering with BMW now...akula sports a BMW engine!
Finally it depends on what role you want your bike to play...dominar is sportstourer..akula is a track ready sports bike!!
If want bang for buck try fz25

please watch this

I guess you have never ridden a bullet , the charm of the bullet comes from the fact it gives you a pure ride . if you want features go for the recent kids on the block , but i have been riding since 92' and i have yet to experince what i did on a bullet than on any other bike .
Mind you i used to race on the Pune circut in 94-96 on a modified shogun :)

The bikes you have selected are the best these companies make.
I have ridden the dominar. It is definitely top notch. And powerful.
Though I use a suzuki for my daily rides.

Service backup is also important, my experience with TVS after sale services are horrible

For me Bajaj ASC was Horrible and Bully , They Blacklisted me and refused to service my Pulsar 135 after i complained against their Poor servicing under warranty to Bajaj Management , I Couldn't take my Bike to other Bajaj ASCs Close by because it was also owned by Same owner , had to service it under warranty 80kms away and Bajaj never bothered to intervene even after repeated Emails . Now i gave it to my brother and use TVS Apache .

Go for akula if I am not wrong it is going to share the same engine on BMW G310R.

So killer looks with german engine is a perfect combo

compared to whats in pakistan, yes. compared to whats in the west, ...

 u r joking rit? for a little more i can get the much more powerful dominar
If you look at the 0-60 and 0-100 times not much of a difference between both of them!!

and how do these indian bikes compare to their japanese counterparts in terms of reliability?
any kind of opinion would help

It kind of depends on your riding style. TVS has made a name for itself in the racing circuit, some of that is reflective in the DNA of this particular bike.

Bajaj's dominar is aimed towards a different market of Power Cruiser imo.

I am specifically biased towards yamaha bikes, I would recommend test drive both and see what suits you the best, after all you have to live with it.
Both are great pics. Best of luck with your purchase.

test drive both of them, that will clear things up for you a bit.

Having owned 2 Royal Enfields (Std and Electra 4S), I hope this madness for Royal Enfield Motorcycle ends. The crowd including youngsters are buying Bullets just because of the hype factor. Let these guys stick with road rockets rather than buying long stroke engine models meant for touring. The premium for RE are too high and doesn't worth it. Besides, I hear the reliability is the same as it was in the CI engine days.

Yes. This is very true. TVS Service is incompetent or bad in most places in Kerala. But, dude reliability and least maintenance..that's where TVS Apache (at least) excels. I will rather compare TVS Motorcycles with what old people attributed to Raleigh bicycles 3-4 decades back.

tried both. loved the power of dominar.
maybe i'll wait for pulsar ss 400. it can rival ktm 390 in performance and looks a lot more comfotable
