State religion is no solution as constitution of Pakistan gives complete freedom of religion to all Pakistanis except Ahmadis. My diagnosis is different on the subject. I my opinion religion should be from state given our particular. You once asked why other Muslim countries are not burning? That’s because all there Mosques, Ulama and so forth are part of state sanctioned structures. In our country every two bit person can build a mosque and start preaching as he wants. We have left this very powerful aspect of our society in complete autonomy giving rise to parallel system answerable to no one. While any every Muslim country that is worth being taken as an example this is not allowed.
In Islam, state is the authority on religion. We have delegated it to individuals and are reaping its results.
There was no overkill. Red Mosque terrorists abducted police officers just like TLP did in Lahore yesterday. Govt will restore writ of state regardless of desi liberal crying violation of human rights on the media.Once we made a foolish decision and went for overkill in Islamabad and We paid dearly for it. I pray our decision makers not make the same mistake again.
agree pakistan biggest mistake as a state was privatizing islam.Pak was meant to be a islamic country and only state should be allowed to make any decisions regarding the country and its awam.Every year we see another sect being born with its own sets of belief. My diagnosis is different on the subject. State religion is already the reality and does not mean that it’s forced on everyone. It’s also the same case in many other countries of the Islamic world. But you should ask why only in our country these guys go on rampage after rampage. Because they are private organizations/individuals exercising control on something that’s supposed to be under state control like in all progressing Muslim countries.State religion is no solution as constitution of Pakistan gives complete freedom of religion to all Pakistanis except Ahmadis.
You can't have freedom of religion and then enforce state religion on everyone. Just like you can't have freedom of religion and then put ban on Ahmadis from calling themselves Muslims. Hypocrites everywhere.agree pakistan biggest mistake as a state was privatizing islam.Pak was meant to be a islamic country and only state should be allowed to make any decisions regarding the country and its awam.Every year we see another sect being born with its own sets of belief.
Pakistan is no Turkey or Indonesia. State religion requires an authoritarian state where state controls religion from the top down. So you can either have freedom of religion or state religion. You can't have both.State religion is already the reality and does not mean that it’s forced on everyone. It’s also the same case in many other countries of the Islamic world. Do you know, right from the beginning even the Jummah khutba was issued from the state. And what are we doing?
Just like you can't have freedom of religion and ban on Ahmadis from calling themselves Muslims.
We are not them precisely for the reason. Since we have privatized the religion anyone with large enough following stands up and tries to enforce their view on state. Where as in Islam, right from the beginning the state is the source of religious authority.Pakistan is no Turkey or Indonesia. Newsflash: 1400 years and we still don't know what is real Islamonly real Islam is recognised at State level
So? What has state to do with it? Constitution says freedom of religion for all Pakistanis. Aren't Ahmadis Pakistanis? Why make an exception for them just because Muslim Pakistanis believe they are not Muslims. HypocritesAhmadis are not Muslims. Jews would never accept Christians to call themselves Jews, despite Christians believing Hazrat Musa ES to be a prophet. Ahmadis took a new 'fake prophet' therefore it will never be acceptable they call themselves Muslim.
Newsflash: 1400 years and we still don't know what is real Islam
Just for a thought experiment: if Pakistan was to adopt state religion, what would that be? Sunni or Shia Islam? Barelvi or Deo Bandi Islam? You can keep on going like this.We are not them precisely for the reason. Since we have privatized the religion anyone with large enough following stands up and tries to enforce their view on state. Are you sure? If majority of Muslims agreed to this, there would not be Barelvis, Deo Bandis, Wahabis, Ismaelis, Twelvers etc etc. As I said before you can either have one state religion or complete freedom of religion. You can't have both.We know real Islam, and there is no provision for any divisions/sects in Islam. No new or reincarnated prophets either in Islam.
