Not really 'overstretched' but providing security to these supply lines would be a nightmare! You'd need thousands of more troops to guard them 24x7 against militant attacks on convoys etc.

So those who say that the PA will just walk into Afghanistan to capture all of the South to unite the Pashtuns don't seem to have a clue of what it involves.

There is no issue in providing security to the supply lines. Didn't we conducted successful operations in Swat, Bajaur, Mohmand and SWA, with no major supply related issues to this day. Thousands of troops still deployed in these regions with uninterrupted land supply lines.

And as for comments of Mr. Mercenary, well people who are sitting outside Pakistan are mostly illiterate about Pakistan & the current affairs / deployment of troops in tribal areas & thus due to incompetency can't properly comment that is why we are seeing such an arrogant / illiterate comment from him , there is no need to invade NWA, as PA troops comprising nearly 2 Brigade strength plus thousands of FC troops are already stations in NWA, with additional troops if required can easily be provided from the adjacent SWA.

There is no solution required, there is no Durand Line, that is Pakistan - Afghanistan Intl border and we Pushtons in Pakistan would love and like to be with Pakistan, that's it.

Afghanistanis have refused to accept their country especially along Pakistani border.

these poor souls do not realize that such actions hurt them more than they hurt Pakistan.

It is like us not recognizing Kashmir border with Indian Kashmir. And guess what we get hurt a lot more than Indians. Our economy suffers big time.

Such is the nature of territories.

Heck we can't live in a house without well-marked boundaries. Then how on earth one would expect to live in a country without well marked boundaries?

Honestly , last time it was ever raised and debated was in 1956 when the International community supported the Pakistani's position of being the legal inheritor of the boundary limits agreed by the Afghans in treaty of Rawalpindi ...

In 1950 the House of Commons of the United Kingdom held its view on the Afghan-Pakistan dispute over the Durand Line by stating:
His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom has seen with regret the disagreements between the Governments of Pakistan and Afghanistan about the status of the territories on the North West Frontier. It is His Majesty's Government's view that Pakistan is in international law the inheritor of the rights and duties of the old Government of India and of his Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom in these territories and that the Durand Line is the international frontier.[31]

I agree with you.I have mentioned in other posts again and again that these afghans dari speakers are the most unreliable and backstabbing people of the world.So stop supporting them when GoP says we will kick 3 million afghans .Many of members disagree with me but believe me they are worse of all.

On the face of it, you make sense. However, the ground realities are neither simple or simplistic.

Here the primary issue is that the lines concerned (Durand, Radcliff or MacMahon also) were not made by the neighbors concerned but by a distant Landlord/Zamindar, who having done what he did; went back to where he came from. That is the nub of the matter. Did the neighbors have any chance to put forward their views? Or did they really count for anything in the determination of these lines?

Such is indeed the nature of territories. Of the "Zar, Zoru, Zameen" triangle, Zameen will never ever lose its luster- while Zar and Zoru do!

Maybe talking about this issue may work? Else there is always "Jiski lathi, uski Bhains" !!

Of course, the poor "sod" without the lathi may be deprived of the Bhains; but will that stop him from throwing stones whenever he can?

About living in house with well-marked boundaries; most times that is done by some authority like a Municipality or Panchayat etc. i.e. a third party. Else it has to be done by negotiation AKA talking!

Judging from some eminent posters here; that does not seem to be forthcoming.
