"We need to take stern action to avenge the barbarism that terrorists & the Pakistan Army have been carrying out. Yes,it's time to give it back to them in the same coin, not resorting to similar kind of barbarism. But I think the other side must also feel the same pain," General Bipin Rawat said.

Army chief General Bipin Rawat

Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Saturday said that India needs to take stern action against Pakistan to avenge the barbaism that its army and terrorists are carrying out.

Talking to media persons, General Rawat added that India will have to respond to Pakistan in their own language without resorting to barbarism.

"We need to take stern action to avenge the barbarism that terrorists and the Pakistan Army have been carrying out. Yes,it's time to give it back to them in the same coin, not resorting to similar kind of barbarism. But I think the other side must also feel the same pain," General Bipin Rawat said.

General Rawat's statement assumes significance as it comes in the wake of the brutal killing of a BSF jawan along the International Border (IB) in Jammy. The BSF jawan's body was found with his throat slit.

Extending support to Indian government's decision to call off foreign minister-level talks with Pakistan in New York on UNGA sidelines, General Rawat said that talks and terrorism can't go hand-in-hand.

"I think our govt's policy has been quite clear and concise. We've made no bones about the fact that talks and terrorism can't go hand in hand. Pakistan needs to curb menace of terrorism," he added.

Pak seriously needs to start Khalistan movement, arm the Kashmiri's
and Maoists. If Modi can openly talk about Balouchistan then why is
Imran Khan talking about peace talks? IK needs to openly support
Kashmiri's and Sikhs for Khalistan.

Those who are serious don't talk, but prove it by their actions.

The call to peace talks shouldn't be taken as a weakness.

Frankly, the talks were going to be meaningless unless either side was going to concede something. The facts on the ground are what matter. Pakistan should try the West Germany approach. Focus on Developing opportunities and freedoms on its side of the LoC, so that Kashmiris want to side with Pakistan. Currently Pakistan is not as prosperous and stable as India, but with proper management and enforcement of law, that can be changed. Equitable rights between the provinces, using tax money to make jobs, and better managing resources like water can make Pakistan a more attractive option. without these reforms, Chinese and Saudi Investments will be squandered. Pakistan can no longer stall for time. Development in All of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir in particular are crucial. Further, the history of the heavy handed Indian oppression in Kashmir will make a Modernizing Pakistan attractive to those looking to throw off the Indian Yoke.

Studying what worked in the West-East Germany context should be how Pakistan approaches Kashmir Issues. Especially now that development is the primary national goal.
