Time machine travel series II: a 5th tier county-level city in China's poorest province vs the national capital of india

Why are you comparing our cities to India's? As far as I am concerned, they're not worth our time. We're six times the size of their economy. The only benchmark we should be comparing is US.
OK, Bro, so the lowest tier city in the poorest province is still a big big over-kill... My fault.:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

I think this should be a wake-up call for India.

To start do it right!

To be honest, this is a dark period of time for India.

. . .
Why compare to India? China should be striving to make sure that cities down to small villages are as clean and developed as Japan.

Look how orderly and well maintained even small Japanese towns are.

The national capital of india:
I am not choosing by far the worst videos...which you can't imagine...

Now, comes the question, how can a medieval agrarian feudal/slavery state in the disguise of 'democracy', to be compared with a 21st century industrialized modern nation in any aspect, as the indians are so obsessed with? Some people just need to know what a modern society should look like.

Honestly, india can not even be comparable to the Subsaharan African countries even with South Africa being excluded:

Previous series:

Agreed. Vietnam's Gdp per capita in 2020 is 3500$, but with regards to city development and many other aspects, we look worse than China in 1990s, when its GDP per capita was only around 500$. My house was not far from Chinese embassy in Hanoi and when I was a child, i went there quite often to see the pictures of China hanging outside.

Yes, Bro, honestly, Vietnam is far better than india in terms of cleanness and orderliness, for sure, but this is not a compliment, though :cheesy: ...

Just relax, buddy... There is no country on earth that is cleaner than Japan, not America, not Europe, there is still a long way to go for China, especially in the countryside, but again, we are catching up fast:
And this kind of threads are made for some india big claims, and you know what I am talking about :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy: ...

Why India become a comparison toward China.
Because both country have 1.4 Billion Population, and back in 1990 based on GDP Nominal percapita india is richer than China.
But look at now, 2020.

Japan already started modernization since Qing Dynasty era, and have very small population and area compare to China.
You cannot compare living in Berlin, Germany with living in Monaco.

But even with all of that, We can see Chinese cities living condition is much much better than US.

That's really an achievement for Chinese people

Chinese living conditions aren't better than the US. Maybe if you are comparing ghettos in the inner city to China's well developed city centers. But most Chinese live in boring or depressing apartment buildings while most Americans live in nice suburban neighborhoods in a single family house.

This is how the typical, middle class Chinese live

Yes, I agree with you. But the Americans are more in deep debt than the Chinese. Just like a Golden Poop. Gold on the outside only.

You are comparing apple to orange.

Yes, US have lower population density than China.
But that have disadvantages too.

When you are american living in suburbs and have office in downtown, it will be a nightmare.

US suburbs much less developed than Chinese suburbs.
So you need to depends on your own car, and wasting hours of time everyday in slow but serious traffic jam  What a suck life.

Meanwhile in China, if you live in subrubs and have office in downtown. You can take subway or other public transportation easily, and 30 minutes later you already in your bathub, relaxing in warm water.

US suburbs are more like Chinese small town, if you want to compare.
Just look at this, you can see small towns across China

American suburb style city planning is not very suitable to China considering the availability of land and size of the population. In addition, you have to drive long distances to work or even to get the grocery, while in China everything is readily available and public transportation is very convenient as well. There are drawbacks and advantage as well for each type of city planning, and you have to make the sacrifice for some gain.
