Time for Pakistan & Russia to mend fences: Russian Media

Defence cooperation has dates back 12 years with Russia, but we need to solidify our economic and military ties with Russia and all other CIS Countries.

Do natural resources mean anything to you?? Gas..oil.. minerals.. etc etc
No reasons???
You were harboring the Mujahideen.. sworn enemies of the Soviets..I think that is a BIG reason..
Yet.. until Reagan came into power...the reds still sent the final parts for the mill..even though we had started our support for the Mujaheddin...out of fear that the Indians will be allowed into Afghanistan and establish a secondary strike force there....the domain is large.

Now..surrender2 me..
have you taken into account the fact that after the sino-soviet split there was a point where the Chinese were ready for war with the russians.. infact.. most of the early chinese nukes were aimed at Russia.. A mistrust exists still.. and the Chinese are wary of Russians at their border..
This isnt the Canadians and the Americans..
Moreover.. China sought for more independence from Russia(or anybody for that matter)...
After 91.. the relations improved a lot..
which is why.. in case co-development is what you stress.. russian engines power Chinese frontline jets..also from Russia..
China avoids partnership with Russia on strategic weapons simply because it fears the GRU might sell out those secrets to the US.. for a favor on part of Georgian capabilities.

It is a dirty world..
"iss haat le.. uss haat de".. is the norm.

Such direct approach to the subject. And as usual a direct approach results in an expressive post. But not an expression of a wise man but rather a fool. You are embarrassing your self. You haven't read my all posts in this thread.First read all my posts in this thread.

I think the answer is embedded in the question... the Russians responded to Nixon's promised "fleet". Who was that fleet coming to assist? The Chinese prevented the eastern front from materializing in 1965. The Iranians and Jordanians gave us F-104s and Sabres for free. Our planes used Iranian bases during the 1965 war with India. According to Indian sources, China "gave" us ballistic missiles when Pakistan was under sanctions in the 1990s (I don't believe it, but apparently you do). China continues to take a strong position on Kashmir (stapled visas etc.). The Saudis, Iranians etc. all support OIC resolutions condemning India. Jordan, Morocco and Saudi Arabia helped veto Indian observer status at the OIC during the Rabat conference ignoring all consequences... because Pakistan was upset. China is giving Pakistan nuclear reactors, one after the other, in defiance of a lot of significant players. The Turkish President's wife (a Doctor by training) personally came to Pakistan and stayed for an extended period looking after folks impacted by the floods - herself! Which other country has the Turkish President's wife personally extended her services to in this fashion? I just got back from Istanbul day before yesterday. There are posters and banners all over the largest Turkish city asking all Turks to send the "Brother's share" this Eid-ul-Azha to their Pakistani brethren. No other country is even named or mentioned.

One can go on and on... but in short, yes, I think we have excellent friends.

i don't want to comment on ur knowledge but r u sure?????????

Ur talking about Turkish President's wife?????

i think ur confused????????????

Are u saying that Russia will sell out secrets to US..
And u r saying china is more technologically forward than Russia???
If russia will sell chineese HIGH- technology to US??
are u kidding me..?
Come on man be realistic..

I am being realistic.. but not in your martian reality.
Read through the post..
So in other words if i am to follow your frame of mind.. India is ahead of Russia if it went and made shauriya by itself?..maybe it is...unlike you I dont have personal issues with my perceived enemy being ahead somewhere.
And Russia has SOLD its secrets before...read a few books by those who have been in the field..
here's a start
Amazon.com: Intelligence in War: Knowledge of the Enemy from Napoleon to Al-Qaeda (9780091802295): John Keegan: Books
...not fanboy articles..
either keep an open attitude.. or try not to waste bandwidth with cynical BS..and stick to Bharat Rakshak.

The Russians are rightly paranoid about the ingress of western secret services in its institutions, IMO - there are numerous people in the GRU and FSB.

I guess he wrote it by mistake. It was Turkish PM's wife.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s wife, Emine Erdoğan, distributed keys Thursday to houses constructed by the Turkish Red Crescent in Pirsabak, a town in flood-hit Pakistan.

The keys were distributed by Erdoğan, State Minister and chief negotiator for EU talks Egemen Bağış and State Minister Selma Aliye Kavaf within the scope of an aid campaign organized by the Turkish newspaper daily Hürriyet.

Delivering a speech at the ceremony for the charity event, Erdoğan said the Turkish people had been following the developments after the devastating floods and felt the pain of the Pakistani people. She added that the Turkish Red Crescent had already sent tents, food, cleaning materials, blankets, medicine and medical supplies to Pakistan.

Many Turkish nongovernmental organizations have been working in several regions in Pakistan and the aid campaigns will continue, Erdoğan said.

Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Ginali said they appreciated the efforts by the Turkish state and Turkish people, adding that it would take long time to recover after the floods.

Erdogan was expected to fly to the flood-hit city of Sukkur by helicopter Friday and visit a field hospital the Turkish Health Ministry has set up in Khairpur. She was expected to return to Turkey after completing her talks in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s worst-ever floods have killed at least 1,600 people and displaced more than 20 million. As many as 17 million acres of farmland have been submerged and billions of dollars of crops destroyed, Pakistani authorities announced earlier. Thus far, Turkey has sent $10 million in financial aid and 244 tons of relief support, including vaccines, medicine and medical supplies, to Pakistan. Turkey has also sent a 42-member medical team, two fully equipped mobile hospitals, an ambulance and a 4x4 truck for medical rescue efforts.

Turkey’s Red Crescent Society was also poised to build in Nowshare 500 Mevlana houses – larger tents that provide long-term protection for victims.

some background:

Shahid R. Siddiqi began his career in the Pakistan Air Force, and later joined the private sector where he was until recently in a senior management position. At the same time, he worked as a broadcaster with Radio Pakistan and was the Islamabad bureau chief of the English weekly magazine, “Pakistan & Gulf Economist“.

thanks for the vital information...
absolutly shamefull to misquote and misgauding behaviour by some members.....don't know why they do so..

russians can be good friend of pakistan... they can be trusted... they will help you when you are in trouble.... we have closely examined them and they have cleared all the exams... with excellent marks....

but same cant be said about pakistan.... (no offence)

India is the most unreliable ally and the worst neighbour one can have and Bangladesh india relation is a very good example of that. On the border areas, everyday this so-called ally of Bangladesh kills the citizens of Bangladesh, it has encircled Bangladesh with dams that are strangling the rivers of Bangladesh.

:rofl:...Bangladesh itself is the best example of how bad a neighbor India can be....in fact the worst kind of neighbor as far as Pakistan was concerned in 1971. Sorry for stating the obvious... but you have a country to today to call your own because of India's generosity, in case you forgot your own history. As for the so called stories of Indian killings, ask the old people there about mass state sponsored murder and rape, they could tell you a thing or two.

Yes, thanks for fixing my error. The Turkish PM's wife.

The point was not that the President or PMs wives haven't accompanied them on state visits, but rather that the Turkish PM's wife came to Pakistan in her capacity as a doctor and actually did the work herself, with her own hands. That speaks to a level of fondness and commitment that goes far beyond accompanying her husband on an official tour.

This is offtopic but let me answer.

Border Areas are supposed to be secured and if some of your BD'ns mates/smugglers etc tries to cross it illegally they are going to be laid down. Keep that in mind and advise your countrymen to stay away from crossing border and stay alive.

Another lie spread in BD about water. Nobody is stopping your share of water you are getting what you are entitled to. check the facts before you go on polluting the cyber space.
