That was 'suicide'---. The officer had no right of 'Junoon'---he was a serving member of the air force---the nation had spent millions on his training---.

He was a servant of the state---and obligated to act within reason when there was no obvious threat to the integrity of the nation.

Military service members cannot go half cocked or full cocked and lay down their lives just like that.
Dear mastan bhai, most of the time I enjoy your duel with other members but for once I beg to differ with you on this, as the martyre was most probably given this task due to PAF acquisition of F16s were at stake, he only followed what he was ordered to perform, he might have got carried away but in the end by giving his life he managed to creat a massive impact on Americans.

On a personal note Americans were never been and would never in future be considered as faithful friends.

The way Pakistan defines the definition of "friend"....probably nobody will ever be left as friends....and I hope it doesn't go to that. They are very good at keeping themselves disillusioned and bickering amongst themselves at blaming others....not all of them, but a good majority. Cheers !!!

My father when he got grounded from GDP joined air defense branch and started working as a air traffic controller witnessed two F6 crashes in which both pilots got killed.
According to him F6s were flying coffins.They were called disposable aircraft.The technology by all aspects was so poor the ejection seats got jammed when he was saying from the air traffic control tower eject eject .Finally when the ground is approaching fast the pilot had to say things like "Allah hafiz" or tell my parents,wife and kids etc that i loved them.

The ejection seats were then upgraded to Martin Baker ejection seats.

Off topic but Ur father was grounded from GDP and Joined Air Defense Branch , How come he was working as Air traffic controller I mean ATC is separate branch ?

Once grounded from the batch of 45 officers they were given the option to go home or to join another branch of PAF.My father opted for air defense.These days air defence and ATC are being used interchangeably but back in those days as you said ATC was a very different branch concept.

so ur father must be weapon controller not traffic controller am I right?
Still these days at least in pakistan ATC and ADWC dont work interchageably they are still separated.

I know that you kids worship Paf pilots---but never forget---the pilots have an obligation to the state for not being SUICIDAL in their actions---.

And the state is The Islamic Republic of Pakistan---. There was no martyrdom in that pilot's performance---. The pilot was committing suicide when he tried to fly the aircaft in a manner that it was not meant to be---and that was just to show off---.

He had already shown his expertise in maneuvers prior to his last & final suicidal act---he just wanted to push the envelope to the extreme---and that extreme was not needed---.

He had already proved his point that Paf pilots were capable flyers---.

Or maybe there was a technical glitch with the jet that would have prevented him from recovering. I believe what they are trying to say that you're terming his death as a suicide is being somewhat in the form of an insult....

All air displays are performed within the envelope of the ability of the aircraft---.

The post clearly states that the officer was show boating his abilities on the aircraft---on an aircraft that was not meant for that move---.

Before the Martin Baker seat was installed on the F6---it had a canon shell underneath the seat---that would explode and eject the seat---.

I met a pakistani Sqdrn Leader at Ogden Utah in 1985-86 who broke his neck on ejection from an F6---survived the parachute jump---and lived to tell the story---.

Are you seriously taking the views of the spectators about the flying display (which is meant to showcase both the aircraft's and pilot's abilities) to gauge whether the pilot was doing something suicidal? Do you know the circumstances of the crash or what he faced in the cockpit? I think you should stop trying to prove your point using this incident as an example as you can only speculate what actually happened and if the pilot actually went past the aircraft performance envelope ... unless you are an expert on F-6s and can give us some quantifiable numbers and parameters and then compare those to his display.
