Tiger Chasing Vehicle in Ranthambhore

no. not into forest department. my father is in railways. but i am fond of ranthambhore and tigers. Many poachers were cought in ranthambhore (dont remember a name from 1990). Some of the famous names are: Jugraj, Lodya, Parsadi, Gopal Mogya, etc.
I belong to the district of sawai madhopur but studied and settled in NCR since my childhood.
My father arrested Arjun Mogya's father and brother. He threatened to kill him but villagers killed him. Is Gopal Mogya was his father or brother. :D

I was talking of poacher caught in Sariska. Back in days, it was great. Have you spent a night in Jogi Mahal ? Its awesome to have a cup of tea on roof few 100 meters away. There are many stories I have.

Unfortunately don't get chance to visit there and have more info.

.
Hey guys, watch this video. It happened in Ranthambhore National Park, Sawai Madhopur, my home town.

This park is world famous. When Bill Clinton came to India as US President he went to Agra and visited this national park.

This national park has been in feature in many documentaries especially Discovery and Nat Geo.

Enjoy.

The fear shown is exactly what it feels. You can hear your heart beating even if you are in closed vehicle and tiger is few meters away.

Must have been a nice adrenaline rush.

Wondered what would have happened if that driver guy had stalled the jeeps motor

will send you entire list of mogyas' cought in past 15 years or so and their family tree ;). Just PM me your email id.

No, have not spent a night there but have been there at night many a times. Nowadays its all VVIP affair to spend a night at jogi mahal. Priyanka, Bina Kak etc are always there. So no chance for common ppl like us to spend a night there.

So did you ever met Fateh Singh Rathore? You must have....

These tiger are conditioned as since birth they see that people in vehicle are not harmful. But if you are on ground they will attack you. My dad was posted in this national park. One of his friend was in such jeep, tiger went just beside his door.

But if you get down on ground they think you are a threat and they might attack. This tiger just wanted to scare away the jeep as he feel threatened and he has to protect his territory. Not a single person is killed while in jeep. Never.

Awesome place to be. We have got off the jeep and had lunch near a water source but my dad and his friend had their service revolver for protection. These jeeps don't have anything to protect.

Only Forest officers and guards get on ground for various work related stuff.

I didn't go to Kenya but people have similar stories of Kenya... no one is afraid. Lions just sit there and do nothing. People even have picnics in areas where these animals exist.

Did you read my post ? It was one of the rare incident. Jeep driver are highly qualified. Didn't you see the jeep behind tiger. Its actually Maruti Gypsy. Jeeps are not allowed anymore as they make more noise.

The tiger felt his territory threatened. That's why.

Yups thats true......Only gypsy are allowed ..i went to Corbett National park in month of Nov Since i have a membership of Club Mahindra .....it was a nice Tour ..A visit to a jungle,Saw a Tiger(it costed me 3600Rs for gypsy ride for 4ppl) plus free 7 day stay at 4 star Club mahindra Safari resort ......:yahoo:

Well if you get down on ground they may attack.

I would rather stay in vehicle. They have awesome power.

Well consider yourself lucky. In Ranthambhore if you get wrong route assigned, you may end up going on outskirts of forest where you can go on your bike too.

Corbett national park was the reason behind Leopard also called as Panther. The difference in size was first considered as a type of Leopard.

Unfortunately I haven't seen other other National Parks outside Rajasthan.

Electrifying ...

@ KRAIT

My favorite from Ranthambore was the Tigress Machhali ... not only she was the excellent mother but also she was fearless ... and She became my favorite because she did this ... RAW Feminine Power ... gives me goosebumps ...

Ranthambhore Art Gallery, Search for it. You will love it. They draw hairs of tigers too to make paintings more realistic.
