Please do not call every Muslim a Talib...what i have seen of Taliban is that even when they were on their best behaviour...they had poor knowledge of Islam but the problem is that they were not even willing to change their stance despite the suffering of the common man.
Now they have made allies of terrorists and given birth to fanatics who will care naught for the lives and property of the very Muslims whom they claim to be fighting for...

I am in agreement with you that modren science subjects need to be included in Madrasah's but it need lot of investment(Billion of Dollars) .

Presently 2 million or more students are studing Afghan Talaban Madrasahs and more then 5 million in Pakistani madrasahs having same curriculum.

When they graduated they dont need any government employment they started their own madrasah so their population is multiplying very fast and successfully running their madrasah .Talib of these madrasahs are paying no fee and also getting free accommodation and food with help of local farm owners or rich buiness man cherity donation(Zakat ,Ushar etc).

In government schools only 30% student can get adimission where these 70% going ? hardly 5% graduates can get jobs , poor majority cant afford expensive university education.

Now you can imagine after ten years Talaban will be in majority and they will challenge present corrupt government system.In NWFP speed of talabanization is double then other provinces.

Either government provide better education system or should accept talaban education system their is no third option.

Just critisim will not serve the purpose .

I agree with this assessment that we need education to be readily available to all and we need to ensure that the Madrassahs are not hijacked by war mongers with vested interests.
We need to provide the opportunity to the masses for a healthy growth of intellect
The population of our country dictates that this be one of the areas where we focus with maximum help from all our allies, however we as a nation also need to stop seeing conspiracy everywhere.

When the previous government wanted to remove the Jihad related verses from the books because of the obvious manipulation of such verses out of context by the hardliners it was met with such a backlash as though it was a conspiracy against Islam.

Young minds need to be exposed to information in a systematic manner and as part of that i really deem it inappropriate for a youngster in his early teens to be taught vaguely about Jihad since we have clear cut example of this being totally misused and abused by these vile TTP and such.
Rather i would have it all focus on the tolerance which Islam clearly asks of Muslims, we have to realize the weak points being exploited by those who want to abuse and misuse Islam.

There are many good madrassahs as well which are not spreading intolerance, however many became breeding grounds for spreading hatred and affected very young minds.
We cannot have independent and unregulated entities which shape the destinies of our young ones, so we have to provide a unified system.
We need to equip our youngsters with the necessary tools to make this country a great one for centuries to come, we should learn our lessons.

Do you have expectation from our government just begging for loan and aids to satisfy their greeds nothing else.

Government badly failed to provide education,health,food ,shelter,justice to poor majority of Pakistan .

No one can imagine that Pakistan is poor and failed state when they look towards luxurious President and Prime minister Palaces and Golden Stars of our generals and their 20 to 40 Kanals official houses .

The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of three soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. They died Feb. 3 in Timagara, Pakistan, from wounds suffered when insurgents attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device.

Killed were:

Sgt. 1st Class David J. Hartman, 27, of Okinawa, Japan. He was assigned to the 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne), 95th Civil Affairs Brigade (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.


Sgt. 1st Class Matthew S. Sluss-Tiller, 35, of Callettsburg, Ky. He was assigned to the 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne), 95th Civil Affairs Brigade (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.


Staff Sgt. Mark A. Stets, 39, of El Cajon, Calif. He was assigned to the 8th Psychological Operations Battalion (Airborne), 4th Psychological Operations Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.

Army son of Lake County pastor killed in Pakistan

The son of a Lake County pastor died Feb. 3 in Pakistan’s Northwest Frontier Province when an improvised explosive device killed three U.S. Army Special Operations soldiers.



Army Sgt. 1st Class David J.Hartman was killed Feb. 3 by a roadside bomb in Pakistan.

Sergeant 1st Class David J. Hartman, 27, died of injuries from the blast, according to the U.S. Army Special Operations Command. Hartman and the other two Army casualties, Sgt. 1st Class Matthew S. Sluss-Tiller and Staff Sgt. Mark A. Stets Jr. were part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The soldiers were among at least 60 to 100 members of a team that trains Pakistan’s paramilitary Frontier Corps in counter-insurgency techniques, the New York Times has reported. They were on their way to attend the inauguration ceremony of a girls school that had recently been renovated with U.S. humanitarian assistance, according to the Army.

“It was really senseless,” said his father, Greg Hartman, a Kelseyville contractor and pastor of the Freedom Worship Center.

He said he’s feeling both hurt by the loss and proud of his son. “This is what David wanted to do. He was helping people,” Hartman said.

Part of his son’s job was to make sure work on the school, which earlier had been destroyed by bombing, was completed.

Hartman said he was acutely aware during his son’s 10 years of service that he could be killed. “It was pretty scary,” he said.

His son would reassure him, saying: “Don’t worry dad, it’ll be OK.”

David Hartman tried to convince his father that serving in Pakistan would be safer than his tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. But Greg Hartman wasn’t convinced. He said he tried to prepare himself for the possibility his son might be killed but also said that’s not really possible.

“I know I have all the answers. But they don’t answer the questions that I have,” he said.

David Hartman visited but never lived in Lake County, his father said. Two of David’s three sisters and his paternal grandparents live in Lake County. His younger brother, following in his footsteps, completed boot camp the day before Hartman’s death.

David Hartman’s wife, Cherise Sabio, is from Rosamond, near Lancaster. They have a 1-year-old son, Michael, and she is pregnant with their second child.

David Hartman loved spending time with Michael and disliked being away from him, his father said. He was looking forward to coming home in April for an extended period of time, he said. But the Army was his career and it was likely he would again return to a war zone, Hartman said.

David Hartman was born in Merced and graduated from Kadena High School, located on an Air Force Base on Okinawa, where his step father was stationed and his mother, Mikail, lived. He was a member of the ROTC and enlisted in the Army after graduation, his father said.

He served in Afghanistan in 2002 and Iraq in 2004.

Hartman, who was based in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, had earned multiple awards during his service to the Army. He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, his father said.

Greg Hartman said he’s struggling with the loss, but has found one positive thing to come from his son’s death: “It’s going to help me minister to people going through this,” he said.

Loss of three (3) US soldiers has invoked an emotionally charged response. Loss of PA, FC, police personnel, and innocent civilians is considered "routine" matter.

The US Army personnel are not here on a Holy mission of sorts; or doing anything to seriously upgrade the fighting capacity of our forces. They are here as "Advisors and Trainers" for what we have made out of of forces; an ARVN setup in 2010. They are just teaching our forces how to fight on their own soil with brutal detached efficiency; Tortures, interrogations, et all.

They stick out as sore thumbs in local dress. Some years ago i saw them in FIA uniform at an airport, what a sight!
