Not even a single bullet. they will give us what will help them. Trained some of the people of higher up in so called terrorism training and
they learn to call every dariwala a terrorst and people who are oppose to Israil anti palestanian policy an extremist.

Our defence budget will go to buy peace keeping equipment and our troops will not fight with india to save there image and go abroad to earn a fat pay check as peace keeper. Where in the border area of our country peace has gone long time ago.

Fcuk USA - Long Live China.

News: Bay of Bengal may have huge reserve of oil and gas, according to scientists.

....Uncle Sam is interested

Besides,St.Martins Island is an ideal location for air and naval base, and also ideal for spying on Chinese.US had eye on this in the 80s.But could not do so,probably due to opposition from general public.Otherwise our Govt.s both BNP and AL (It doesn't matter, both are chamchas) would have allowed them to settle permanently.

Boats are needed when the Burmese troops and NASAKA come to our sea territory to catch big fish or test undersea geology. Resisting US offer of naval help will certainly encourage the govt to tilt towards India for help. So, we must make a choice between two evils.

In doing so we must remember that the US Satan has so far provided BD with $5 billion worth of assistance after 1971, and it receives $3.5 billion worth of our annual exports. On the other hand, the nearby 3rd world DADA country pushes $3.5 billion worth of goods to BD every year.

We need all the military and non-military cooperation from the west. It is not wise to bite a hand that tries to help us. Better we remember SIDR cyclone and how the US help stopped any deaths afterwards. I can remember the thousands of tons of bottled water ferried by helicopters from US navy ships in Chittagong that saved peoples' lives. However, some people wanted the SIDR people to suffer and die by diseases after drinking the salty and dirty water.

While that is true, people fail to ralize that since 9/11 US is running its south asian policy and security move through Delhi. And as long as washington run its policy though delhi there will not be any benefit for Bangladesh. For god sake even Bangladesh desk in US state department is manned by an indian origin.

Time to get real.

Well I think, at the begining of Bush era USA tried to link India with other south asian neighbour but retracted after getting a cold shouldier from Bangladesh. As far as I can remember, one of their official had to say sorry in Dhaka as he talked Bangladesh in Delhi on his way to Dhaka.

Do not get me wrong. Yes, we do need all the help that we get can from west and also from china, Pakistan and Middle east. My point, it is very unlikely that USA will provide us arms under EDA(which is free) against the wishes of India. In the State dept., almost all the south asian desk are occupied by either indian born american or Indian origin. Now to get over that, you need lobbing like it was done by the pakistani physician in USA to get F-16 into pakistan. We have more lobbing for election of AL and BNP brunch of USA than bangladesh deplomatic efforts in US Capital.

Under present setup, this is highly unlikely that we will get any fundamental help to increase our fighting capability from USA. and with the standoff with Myanmar, looks like chineese help are almost
gone. thanks to AL and its master India.

And you were party to that retracted conversation? Bangladesh at the moment do not have leverage to sway US policy in south asia that runs through delhi and neither has US stand changed significantly on indian involvement.

But indepedent US policy (without delhi's influence) would be much relief for Bangladesh. So anyone under illusion that 3 US generals visit somehow shows shift in US policy or any negligible hope for gains are misinformed and misguiding.

Fact is dumb a$$ Bush wanted to see India as a regional broker as like as China for North Korea. But none of the India's neighbour took it positively, so India's amibition to that fogged away.

Unfortunately, change in US president did not change US policy on Bangladesh. US policy still runs under 3D policy doctrine which had active input and influence from Indians.
