Three Iranian Revolutionary Guards killed near Pakistan border

. .
I know it was an ambush. What were your soldiers and troopers doing when they were allegedly entering Iranian territory to conduct this attack. And why you failed to stop them from allegedly sneaking back into Pakistani territory?

Is that really the question? Aren't you familiar with nature of an ambush? The attack happened right at the border, these guys get out, shoot and flee the area back to Pakistan and as you know, the border is hundreds of kilometers long, so it's not like there are troops everywhere in the border and sometimes closest unit may be at least 15 minutes away and that time is more than enough to get back dozens of kilometers back into Pakistan. You are talking like other troops were there and watched them flee.

Rest in Peace.

Are my eyes working correctly? wow :P

Iran fires rockets into Pakistan's Balochistan | Zee News
Last Updated: Monday, December 29, 2014 - 21:02

Islamabad: Iranian border guards fired dozens of rockets into Kech district of Pakistan`s Balochistan province, officials said Monday.

Iranian border guards Monday night fired 42 rockets into Kech`s Zamuran area, located close to the border, Dawn online reported citing sources in Balochistan Levies paramilitary force.

The rockets landed at a village in Zamuran and injured seven Pakistani civilians, Levies sources said.

The sources added that some armed men had attacked a checkpost in Koh-e-Sor inside Iranian territory and killed three Iranian officials Sunday evening.

Panic prevailed among people as Iranian border guards continued to fire rockets inside Pakistani territory the entire night.

Levies and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel rushed to the area to defend the border.

When FC and Levies personnel reached the border, the Iranian guards stopped firing.

Iran has alleged that the assailants who attacked the Iranian checkpost sneaked back into Pakistan. The allegation has been vehemently denied by Pakistani officials.

Security on both sides of the border was tightened in the aftermath of the incidents.

Pakistan shares a 900 km-long porous border with Iran and the two countries had recently decided to boost intelligence coordination to wipe out terrorists from the area.

So Iranian troops weren't present at the border but you want Pakistani troops to guard each and every inch of the border 24/7. I know what are ambushes. But then you need to be prepared for such situations. We have faced such situations. Our troops are attacked nearly every night by terrorists coming from Afghanistan. But then we have taken precautions and have prepared for such attacks. Now most attacks result in the death of militants than our troops. I don;t see you guys doing that. What actions you have taken to secure border with Pakistan or improve your security structure in your Baluchistan? Blaming Pakistan won't work. There are issues on your side too and you need to work on them. Even gangsters and terrorists from Pakistan succeed in getting Iranian passports to flee other countries. Is it also a fault of Pakistani state?

No we never expect Pakistani side to monitor every inch, it's both impossible and stupid, but it's possible to make their safe havens inside your country unsafe for them. You see they don't have any safe havens inside Iran, they just cross border, launch an attack and go back, it's a huge difference here. We have killed a very good number of them and arrested their leaders, even it's believed that our intelligence service took out one of their leaders (brother of Rigi) in Quetta, Pakistan, where he was mysteriously killed.

Compared to few years ago which was all wild west in that region, these attacks have reduced significantly and they no longer can stay in any part of Iran. They have to launch cross border attacks.

Pakistan has also suffered huge casualties from terrorists, so please don't talk like anyone here is invincible. If anything, attacks on Peshawar or Karachi airport are indications that fight against terrorism is never easy.

Sh*t happens when countries border countries. If it's not separatist militants its issues in sects of religion, and if it's not that, it's illegal migration, and if it's not that either, it's drug smugglers.

Pakistan itself is fighting a huge WOT on tribal area , and there is no sense of starting another front by sending and supporting terrorist in cross border attacks in Iran, there are banned organization operating from Balochistan and some from Iran side of the border , they do such attacks so the countries start fighting each other , look at how Taliban do cross border attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan , resulting many times Pakistan and US/Nato Armies come face to face , this is exactly what happening on Pak-Iran border ,those Iranian member who are so desperately calling Indians to have military drills, they should realize that Indians are supporting BLA and other Separatist organization operating in Balochistan , they provide funds and weapons which used to attack both Pakistani and Irani armed forces .... the only way to eliminate these scum bags are good coordination , 24/7 patrolling , quick response force , and better communication between two border forces ,in case of any attack on Iran side, they should quickly communicate with Pakistan , so from Iran side Iranian forces kill them , and from Pakistan side , we will be prepared if they try to get into pak .. same goes with Pakistani as well ....

RIP. My condolences and respect for deceased.

I would urge Iranian people for better understanding of situation facing both countries. I don't think it is wish of Pakistani people or government that Iranian forces are attacked. Given the situation in Pakistan, security apparatus has its hands full. Thus this border is lightly guarded with FC. Indian members have never seen such landscape that exists on this border so naturally they can not understand challenges but we both do. It is not easy and in fact there are not enough resources with both countries. Iran faces multiple challenges to its security like Pakistan so I hope they understand it better. Intelligence network of Pakistan is busy handling more imminent threats and they may not have given it priority.

A violent response, border incursions and intelligence operations will result in resentment of locals both against Iran and Pakistan government. This will worsen the law and order situation there and creating headache for both governments. I am by no means implying that we do nothing, but I am asking for a calculated response by both nations. Violence will only breed violence and an unending revenge cycle. Iran does not have friends all around it much like Pakistan. It will be unwise to create unrest at one more border. There are too many Pakistanis including sunnis who view Iran favourably. It is in no one's interest to change it.

If you ask me, a better solution would be to undertake economic development of that area as a joint initiative. I know that area is famous for good date fruit. What if they can be produced, processed and packaged on both sides? Iranian packaged dates are very popular here in Pakistan. I believe terorrism thrives in low economic development areas. A little friendly engagement with Baluch population on both side will go a long way. I see this a long term "real" solution. Your comments are most Welcome.
