An Indian engineer arrested in France for his suspected terror links with Al Qaeda was being watched in this country as he has been an activist of the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), a banned outfit allegedly affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba, Home Minister P. Chidambaram said Monday.

Mohammed Niaz, originally from Madurai, was arrested at the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris May 10 on his arrival from Algeria, where he had developed links with an Al Qaeda franchise.

After his arrest, French Interior Minister Claude Gueant had described Niaz as a man with a high level of technical training.

He is said to be associated with Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, one of the Al Qaida’s franchises, in Algeria. The group has vowed to carry out attacks against France and other western nations.

The info about the above terrorist was gained from three french arrested in Pakistan who wanted to go to Afghanistan.
They were arrested by ISI and info was shared with french so they got the real man.Info was not shared with Indian becaause no mechanism exists.
In this caase ISI has done 80% of thee work remaining 20% by french.
So be thankful to Pakistan and ISI,if the man had succeded to do any big act then India would have been insulted.

Terrorist network led by Indian national disrupted in France:

The terror cell was detained on May 10 at Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport as the group leader was returning from a recruiting trip to Algeria. The alleged terrorist was identified as Mohammad Niaz Abdul Rasheed, an Indian national.

Overall, the National French Police arrested seven individuals, including 33-year-old Abdul Rasheed, suspected of being involved with the terrorist cell. The detentions were possible due to Pakistani information passed to French counter terrorism authorities.

Abdul Rasheed, of Madurai, lived in India until 2008 when the moved to France. While in the European country, he married a local woman in order to acquire French nationality.

When he was 21 years old, Abdul Rasheed allegedly joined the Manitha Neethi Parasai group, part of the broader Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and predecessor of Indian Popular Front (IPF).

Once in France, he began organizing a terrorist cell, the French Popular Front (FPF). He intended to gather a group of young people to fight foreign coalition troops in Afghanistan, in support to the Taliban.

In January, two French nationals were arrested by authorities as they attempted to fly to Afghanistan in Lahore, Pakistan. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the seven members in France.

He was an activist for SIMI, not the LeT. SIMI is an Indian group with ALLEGED links to LeT. So how does that implicate Pakistan in anyway in Abdul Rasheed's case? Your argument falls apart due to your logical fallacies.
