Guwahati - Indian Air Force seek deployment of six squadrons of Air Defence Missiles along Pakistan border, Indian media has reported.

In a bid to boost to Air Force's capability to take down enemy fighter aircraft, the government has cleared the procurement of six squadrons of the indigenous Akash air defence missile systems worth Rs 5,000 crore to be deployed on the borders with Pakistan and China.

Isnt this why SSG training is so intense? their jobs are to infiltrate as far as possible and destroy a target.

Even if that fails im sure ISI knows how to pass certain intel to the kashmiri fighters, its not like Indians are going to deploy their front line ground units to protect them

The real question is can PAF handle a high volume of attack aircrafts, and can we be certain that there wont be any incursions from other areas e.g. Arabian sea, central asia

That is a serious problem.we also need local air defense system because most of air defense systems are very costly.we need proper air defense systems near border otherwise 80km intrusion can happen again.

Though, Akash and Spyder are apart of the growing SAM network, they are the least of your concern in comparison to MRSAM, XRSAM, S400. XRSAM underdevelopment and S400 are penetrating deep into your territory.

IAF Akash - It's good to see it getting more orders and it's the beginning of several more SAM inductions.

And invite yourself to retaliatory missile attacks? Missile firing means means there will no space for ceasefire for quite sometime and its serious aggression.

All SAMs can intercept Cruise missiles. If it is ballistic missile, then it will be all out war with no hold barred. Maximum firepower will be used by India. It will also invite Indian navy and aircraft carrier into war from Arabian sea.
