Guys.I need help.I need some cash for short term.

I plan to do some freelancing but don't know how to start.I mean there is so much competition out there.I mean just tell me how to make money in short term.

Presently i have knowledge of Flash,little bit of 3ds max,little bit of C++.

Pls advise me of any other skills that should i learn.Which other skills should i learn to make some cash in 3 months.

Try going on odesk.com, check out what kind of jobs are most suited to your skill set and build those skills. You can take up projects at home and build up a reputation. I haven't used this service, but I know that it works well if you are hardworking and sincere.

After you login use gigapedia as primary search engine in the top right corner search tab(do not use google or yahoo). Download books from links tab.You can see the other tabs besides the links tab for comments and reviews on the books.

The links are either rapidshare links or from www.ifile.it.For upload | ifile.it just click on the "request download ticket" button on ifile.it website and follow the instructions.

For others the process is quite simple.

I have done a few jobs.They are demanding indeed.Most of the jobs are based on making webpages.They are good for making quick bucks as well.But I doubt it whether you will be able to do much within 3-4 months.But then,if you solely devote yourself to the job,then maybe you can make a difference...

A lot of projects are there based on making websites using a CMS or component management system,namely Wordpress,Joomla,Drupal etc.Perhaps Joomla is the most heavily used nowadays.The packages are free to download and websites can be made easily using them.Just search by the name in google or any other engine,and it will direct you to the website where you can download these packages.You can use Wamp Server on your local machine to run all these,if you are using Windows as your OS.

My personal suggestion would be not to go for CG based projects.3DS Max is a demanding application and you need a really good system to create something worth making money out of it.I know about it,worked on it when I was in college.One of friends,who works on 3DS Max uses a computer with 16GB of RAM, Velociraptor HDD, a 6 core processor,and two top of the line ATI graphics card configured in crossfire mode,with a 29 inch monitor.....Now that kind of workstation is not quite a common thing that we use every other day.....

So you mean that i should take projects for making website if i want to make some quick light cash right ?

As far 3ds max goes.Yes indeed it is very difficult and one needs to have a very heavily loaded computer with graphic cards and also one must have a whole rendering farm to earn good cash .but I just learned few basics of it cause of my interest.

What about photoshop and flash?I mean do designing Brochures and such stuff pays well?.Specially i really like to make interactive content using Flash and AS3.But problem is AS3 is no easy language and has a huge learning curve(At least for me).

Freelancer is the best place to get your hands dirty ...!!!!

Well frankly i tried E-bay and i didnt got full payment which i desired and hence left that Path... You actually have to be in contact with your client ... !!!!

Actually PayPal has disgraced Pakistan.Where PayPal is even available in countries like Ethiopia,Rwanda,Somalia etc it isn't available in Pakistan.

Well,, threes no shortcut to learn any tng... It cant happen that you get into Java,C,C++,C# etc and expect to become a hardcore coder and a developer overnight... Its all about honeying ur skills ... Build your concepts first like most importantly OOP concepts and freelance later ...
Language seekna do din ka kam he .. !!!

2.Typical earning per hour.

It depends for which enterprise are you working for and at which level in a team your developing... If you do the lions share you tend to get handsome...!!!!

Cant answer that.. It totally depends upon you .. Java indeed is Fun if you r into Mobile App dev especially for Android or Enterprise Software Developement ... I-phone app dev in Obj C is way more easier and cooler .. Look you can go anywhere dont look at the earnings just persue your intrusts .. money will follow...

I do freelance work sometimes.Previously i used to do simple financial analysis,small level bookeeping, statistical analysis e.t.c. After improving my skills i created a financial model for a client. However, the competition has increased. I am free till december and am going to further upgrade my skills (will be finished by mid november on that) thanks to the books that i have downloaded.

Here is my advice to file12345:

You should have a fast internet connection (sometimes you may have to talk to them via skype e.t.c)

You should have some sort of back up power supply (UPS for the computer that can function for some time).

Never accept a project unless you are fully sure that you can do it, not only do it but do it in time. You should not accept a project unless you know that you have the required free time to complete it. Failing to do so may result in a bad feedback/review which is bad for business.

Depending upon your skills it may take a month before someone gives you a project.

You may have to work late at night as the client most probably will be US,UK europe based.

Also bid on projects on simple projects like data entry work, uploading product information on e-commerce sites, virtual assistantship work (if you can do it), technical writing( articles on programming,web designing e.t.c.) It may not require the full use of your programming and other skills but it will help you in getting the money you require.
