Thorium based MSR/LFTR for future power generation in Bangladesh

Thorium would still take couple of decades to establish, and even then only select countries would have it and even that in very small numbers. If Bangladesh really wants thorium power then it would have to wait, even if they work with other countries that have ongoing research on thorium reactors. Mainly because they themselves would first try to exploit it rathet than provide it to other nations.

The Bay of Bengal and the chittagong Coast has huge deposits of monazite (even small deposits of uranium have been found in the east coast). Thorium is far more efficient and safer tech then uranium, and ideal for BD, it also produces far less waste.

There is a lot of youtube lecture on the advantages of Thorium over Uranium.

I think Bangladesh can bank on India in this issue since india has gained great success in research in this field. Bangladesh must talk about co-operation with India in this field

If your countrymen stop being so racist towards India, I would have never said anything. In fact, we used to rent one of our houses out to a Bangladeshi family and I had nothing but praise for Bangladesh until I read yours and other's comments about India on this forum.

I think you wont need my opinion. Go through the below comments. You cant compare india with bd. We dont have budgets for any kinds of research. Whenever there is an established technology with cheap price we will get that.

Even then it would take decades depending on how far BARC has gotten with their research. If I am not wrong they just started construction on their first reactor so maybe in the next 2 to 3 decade.

2 reactors, 1000mw each. But this is going take a while, we are still at the project planning and concept stage.

Bangladesh should have the potential of hydropower station construction, every year I have the attention of Bangladesh floods. If it is lack of water resources in place, the flood is difficult to occur。 Hydraulic power up power gap is a good idea. Of course, Bangladesh can also consider nuclear power, but the relatively needs higher technology, of course, on the safety of nuclear materials is also to be considered especially。I suggest friends and negotiations with the advanced countries in the hydropower and nuclear power technology , introducting technology and the necessary funds. It would be a great place to start since it would provide a great technology base for research. And if i am not wrong even for the thorium based reactors the initial stages require uranium based reactors so it would be a great start.

Go learn some facts BD per capita is higher than its neighboring indian states. This regional people are poor compared to other.
How will BD become rich overnight? BD condition is better than you think and we dont need to hear your racist opinion.
Indian people run inside bd more than Bangladeshi inside india.
