This Might Be Huawei's Secret Weapon

what will huawei do if the ban were lifted? i hope it will still develop its own eco system regardless any outcome.

IMO, they will for sure stay away from "Made in USA". Just too risky to rely on American tech companies for anything critical, as they are becoming the extension of US government. I was reading comments on other sites, de-Americanization seems to be the mood.

They do this to a Chinese tech company today, and they will do the same to European auto companies tomorrow.

Some one commented it would take Huawei long time to establish and build up apps to go with its operating system, once it is introduced.
I disagree. I think it would be very fast, faster than the operating system before it. For simple reason, once a telephone brand is started to sell well Huawei does now, its operating system would become popular and more accessible in the world. The Apps creators and companies would flood it so their products can take advantage of the platform offered wider accessibility around the world. The apps would just flood in for the new platform.
It just have to take the first step to introduce a stable and attractive new platform/operating system, the rest would take care of itself, very quickly indeed.
I had an old Huawei few years back, i think it was more stable than iphone I now have.

Imagine this, create an OS based on LINUX compatible with Android so all android users can migrate overnight, then ask all foreign apps to list their app in this app store, require all phone made in China to use this OS, this OS to be open source to all and not controlled by any. Overnight Google will face a big challenge, a real open source OS, not a semi open source OS.

I think it should not just Huawei, but Chinese government should consider other Chinese companies as well in the future, which is the change is possible.

It's better to be prepared now, set a strong foothold, so you have a better bargain chip in the future, not nakedly being shamed and bullied.

This is one part that Chinese government unaware and then used by others to exploit you.

It's not that we can adapt to these challenges, but this require some time, maybe 1-2 years to fully takeover the supply chain. US is forcing us to be independent, previously we can't ban these western companies due to fair trade requirements, now they are banning themselves, offering a chance for our smaller companies to grow big.

If the OS is available for other phone makers to use.

But if it just Huawei, may be not.

Exclusive OS is hard to be popularized. iOS is successful because it was the first of it kind.
