Khan should have attended it. Why Saudis have got problem with it? What is the problem if Pakistan joins it?

@MastanKhan @HAIDER

Hi

Just remember what I told you guys years ago the consequences of not joining the Yemen war would be will be terrible terrible for Pakistan in the future.

this is just the beginning you’ll see more problems coming by the sound of it.

I think most of you young and old had no clue no comprehension what you could have achieved by sacrificing a few for a greater cause I believe Pakistanis have no concept of that mindset oh well.

you want to live in this world and have 200 nuc weapons and are clueless to your strength.

when Men and women are raised like little children by their parents they never grow up to act like grown men and women And such is the tragedy of pakistan.

Either you are with us or against us, Pakistan has to follow middle , very very bad situation, May Allah sail the Pakistan safely. Ameen.

At this moment we need to figure out playing the GrandChessboard and the GrandGameOfGo at the same time... and given our FO has been dead for past 30 years... skills lack miles by miles.. and then there is Khottaism ruling the roost.
First, I agree with @HRK that we need to wait for official confirmation.

Second, even if the cancellation is true, 'Khottaism' is itself the art of being stubborn and doing whatever you want to do to maintain your 'principled stance' - true diplomacy, especially for weaker States, is about being flexible and adjusting where possible to get the greatest benefit. IK isn't going to cancel his trip to Malaysia over text, like an ex. There will likely be informal and formal communications with the Malaysians and the Turks about Pakistani constraints with respect to Saudi pressure.

One example of my disagreement with States taking a 'principled stance' is with Erdogan picking a fight with the US over the S-400 missile sale from Russia. No matter what our views about the US, it is a fact that American military technology and economy is unmatched. Leveraging the S-400 sale to perhaps gain more technological collaboration and perhaps a larger contribution to the F-35 program would have been far more advantageous to Turkey. Yet Turkey was too caught up in its 'principled' stance. Turkey's position on the YPG was legitimate, and that was absolutely a fight that Turkey should have picked, but Turkey had already weakened its position with the US over the S-400 issue.

We need to pick our fights carefully, work with those who are willing to be flexible with us and take them along to help work with, or around, those who are inflexible.

PM Imran may skip Kuala Lumpur summit

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan is unlikely to attend the Kuala Lumpur Summit being hosted by Malaysian counterpart Dr Mahathir Mohamed on the theme, ‘The Role of Development in Achieving National Security’ later this week, sources said on Monday.

Though there has been no official announcement about the December 18-21 summit, a Foreign Office source said Pakistan will be “represented at the summit by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi”.

According to the Malaysian news agency Bernama, Mahathir devised plans for the summit while meeting with the leaders of Pakistan and Turkey at the UN General Assembly.

On November 23, he announced that his country would host the summit in December.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the decision to attend the summit would be taken “in accordance with national interests”.

“The prime minister is currently in Bahrain and will later visit Geneva. He will return to the country on Wednesday [tomorrow] and [the government] will then decide if he should visit Malaysia,” she told reporters.

PM Imran had earlier confirmed his participation in the summit, which will also be attended by leaders of Turkey, Qatar and Iran.

Around 450 leaders, scholars, clerics, and thinkers from 52 countries are expected to attend the event.

However, according to the media in the Middle East, the summit is seen as an attempt to create a new bloc in the Muslim world that could become an alternative to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation – an idea that upsets Saudi Arabia.

But talking to a private TV channel during PM Imran’s daylong Riyadh visit on Saturday, Qureshi negated the perception that the summit was being raised as a parallel platform or against the OIC.

“The elements desiring to create discord among the Muslim world are creating such perceptions,” he said.

“Dr Mahathir Mohamed has already organised four [similar] sessions as his private initiative before assuming the office of the Malaysian prime minister,” he said.

“He [the Malaysian prime minister] is now trying to give it a formal shape,” Qureshi said, adding that Dr Mahathir had sent his foreign minister to Riyadh to extend a formal invitation for the summit, considering Saudi Arabia an important member of the Muslim world.

The plan for the summit was finalised in the second ministerial meeting in the Qatari capital.

Speaking at the meeting, Qureshi said that Pakistan fully supported the initiative of Dr Mahathir to bring five Muslim nations together to achieve socioeconomic development.

He endorsed his statement that “we are not here to challenge any existing organisation or directing our cooperation against any third party”.

Qureshi said that “we have to create a knowledge-seeking culture for our youth, who are going to be the future leaders, at all levels.”

before daydreaming work on your country. isn't your literacy rate like 60%?

The usual suspects are at it. After every trip or big meeting, fake news rains.

Pakistanis must not do the same blunders they committed when they were asked to join the Yemen war and they refused on Flimsy Grounds.

there are one too many enemies joining hands to de fang us.

turkey and malaysia do not have the clout that Saudi arabia. We love Turkey, but they have amassed huge problems for themselves.

the problem with you pakistani kids is that yiu talk and act western, you are smart and educated, you talk and act as if you are a super power, you are happy snd satisfied with small skirmish victories yet you claim ss if you had won the wars.

the world and powers to be look at you and listen to what you are saying and they wait for their moment to strangulate you.

you are being squeezed systematically slowly but surely and you dont have any clue that you are in a death grip.

the powers to be gave you gcc on a platter at a moment of grand panic at the start if yemen crisis your failure brought your constant slide into a continuous down fall which has no end.

You are putting salt in the tea and wonder why it tastes bitter

@Mangus Ortus Novem

Imran khan lacks courage. He has proved that time and time again. He is not the leader we thought he would be. I think our Nation misjudged him very badly.

Nawaz Sharif and Zardari never took stand for Pakistan because they never wanted to, where as Imran khan is not taking a stand because he just can't.

These are the usual and expected "ups" and "downs"!!! Don't worry...

Yes, some kids pretending to be rulers get upset too fast!! They haven't seen the games yet...

Anyway, it's high time Pak concentrate on her economy and finances 200%...

Modi has opened a window of opportunity for Pak with this "Final Solution*" fiasco. Pak needs to leverage it 200%...

*After moving to India even the Sheyatin become incompetent and lazy, and turn themselves into objects of ridicule...

Zalim!!!!

You opened the game too early... am planning to compose a piece on it... but first have to do a 3 part piece on Hybridwar... contextual build up .for YoungPaks so hopefully they can calm down a bit!

My critique on PMIK was of statements / claims and then follow up....

As you are of those few who can visiualise the EurasianLandmass and Pak's position in it... it is not that straight forward an enterprise to come out all at once...

Especially with the EconomicTerrorism of the past 30 years and of course the extremes of this in the Noora/Zardari regimes... We are NOT free from trap...

At this moment we need to figure out playing the GrandChessboard and the GrandGameOfGo at the same time... and given our FO has been dead for past 30 years... skills lack miles by miles.. and then there is Khottaism ruling the roost.

Snatching Victory from the Jaws of two SuperPowers... do you see where we stand again?

WE are reaching the Third Strategic Relief moment... and we cann't afford to be cannon fodder all the time.. not this time.

Regarding, our GCC partners ..they need to figure out rather fast which side of the EmergingPowerArchitecture they wish to be.... CheckBookDiplomacy in the post Hyperpower world might not be that effective anymore.

PMIK must show statemanship and lead by example.

Quaid e Azam thought a thousand times and then utter his policy statements and then NEVER changed...

Of course, it is highly unfair to compare anyone with Qauid e Azam but 5% of Quaid can do wonders for Pakistan.

I know I haven't said anything which you wished I did...

2023 is most critical for not only BlackSeaRegion but the entire Med and Atlanic too...

What I wish is harmonising of PakIndustrialPolicy with the EmergingOrder. Simple!

@MastanKhan @Signalian

hi

IK needs to get rid of the majority iranian influence of his advisors.

pakistan is getting deeper into that muck.

india will never allow pak economy to grow. There will be one crisis after the other created by india in pakistan to sabotage economic investment.

IK and his team do not know how to govern and that is a tragedy. One crisis after the other. One failure in administration of events after another.
Never expected it from IK.
