Former Indian captain and batting Sunil Gavaskar has rated Pakistan's current squad as their "weakest ever in World Cups", expressing his disbelief at the decision by Misbah-ul-Haq to go into the crunch match against India with a part-time wicketkeeper.

Dont you worry Mr. Gavaskar, Pakistan will make ad hoc Changes as they always do after a game without any vision or plan. They will fly 3 injured player soon as they always do.

I think everyone is being too harsh with the Pak team

As the Irish & Zim have just shown its anyone's game on a given day.

You are right here..... People are being too harsh on them.....It is a long tournament and there is enough time to recover from this defeat...... Give them the time and i think you can expect them in quarterfinal.......

This is not the weakest but worst ever team with which Pakistan attempted to play (I dare not say win) the world cup. A horrible team composed of pathetic players lead by a mediocre captain.

And if they managed to win a few games here and there, it would not be because the team played well but because the other side made more mistakes.

i received an interesting sms yesterday

3 cheezain hamesha dhoka day jati hain

i) hasti huee larki
ii) khamosh baitha hua kutta
ii) aur Pakistani team.

Gavaskar is right. The most effective way to destroy an organization, team or even a country is to ensure that an incompetent person is heading it or in a decision making process. this holds true for PCB. We have been giving chances to those players for now almost a decade who have consistently under performed having "average" averages especially batting. Akmals are known for their below par wicket keeping and poor batting in big games. i dont know, its in their dna or what but it runs in the family and who should ever forget umar akmal refusing to play in australia some years ago when his brother kamran akmal was dropped. I am 100 percent sure that had such kind of incident happened in india, indians would have make a horrible example of that player and we Pakistanis are carrying this baggage for almost a decade now. Everybody wants to be a captain in our team, knowing the fact that they are neither capable of leadership nor deserve a chance in the national team.

There was a time when there were 5-6 players in our team that can be good captains. Now, there isn't even a single player capable. After Misbah, dont know who will lead them. Misbah in not the best option but unfortunately there is not any other option available.

However, i would congratulate indian team and their board that they have turned around indian cricket in recent years bringing forward quality player after player. Honesty pays off and their honest and sincere efforts have definitely strengthened indian team.

In Imran's team he had Mansoor Akhtar who never played more than 10 balls in a game yet Imran kept him forever. It was so annoying that people started say Imran ka Mansoor ki sister se koi chaker hay. Now we have this incapable Akmals who have been playing cricket for Pakistan for ages with nothing to show.

Not if your only goal of the entire campaign is to defeat India in a world cup match! :)
