I travel extensively and talk to people, especially college students. Eveery college has a Tamil nationalist organization (secretly). That does not necessarily mean majority of Tamils want independence. That is why we wand a referendum on independence in Tamil Nadu. India knows that at least 90% will vote for independence. That is why it refduses to conduct such vote.

Movie industry in north and west are dead (except Hindi movies). A few Marathi and Gujarati and Punjabi movies. Less than 5% of Hindi movies. Only South India produces large amount of movies. Reason. Hindi has not intruded extensively to south yet. There are as many Tamil movies as Hindi (some years a little more. Some years a little less). This is true of Telugu also.

--- Rail tickets, bank forms are in hindi and english only.

---- For every Rs. 100 India spends to develop Hindi, all other living languages together get less than Rs.2.

---- most indian gov websites are in hindi and english only.

Now It is up to the Tamils to prove that they can work with others productively rather just keep on harping on this mantra about Tamil being great. Just like Tirupathi , Bengaluru once belong to Tamils ,Madras (Chennai) was once Telugu majority hence a large Telugu pop in Tamilnadu. Yet Tamil dont discriminate Telugus, many Tamil politicians are Telugus e.g Karunanidhi , Vaiko, Vijayakanth etc
