What's new

This is Deosai, Pakistan

These stories of Titans, have they anything to do with the Greeks who came with Alexander ???

Nope, why would they? Our local mythologies are pretty strong and intricate themselves. Just that we don't know about them.

Those Greeks settled in Northern Areas 2000 years ago and their descendants still live there.

They are the local people.

Nope, they aren't. A hand full had settled south of Chitral, according to Alexander's historians. Those people are claimed to be the Kalasha, but DNA studies have concluded that the Kalasha are aboriginal to the area. Alexander never reached the Northern Areas. The locals there are indeed local to the places. Some have Tibetan mix, though. No Greek influence.

Why is it called "Deosai"(Land of Giants)?:undecided:

BTW Pakistan is so heavenly:smitten::pakistan:...wish to tour the entire country if security situation comes under control.

.
The sad part is that we seriously lack in terms of proper infrastructure for tourists. The northern areas are nothing short of a gold mine waiting to be opened!
