“There were 780 prisoners in total and we've got 740 out.”

Accused of being a traitor of the United States, here is the story of British Civil Rights Lawyer, Clive Stafford Smith who has represented and fought for detainees in Guantanamo Bay.

I started discovering these amazing bounty flyers and it turns out that what we were doing was, basically what the United States does far too often, which was we were offering money to people to turn in basically Muslim men with beards."

"I read Pervaiz Musharraf's, rather dreadful, autobiography called "In the Line of Fire" and I think it's on page 237 where he said that more than half of the prisoners in Guantanamo bay ended up there because officials in Pakistan were taking millions of dollars in monetary payments to turn them in."

This actually turns out to be how the majority of people ended up in Guantanamo Bay.

One of the people I'm still representing in Guantanamo Bay is from Karachi......Ahmad Rabbani........was sold to the United States on 10th February 2002 for $5000 and he was sold with a story saying that he was a wicked evil terrorist called Hassan Gul.

So Pakistan sold its own people, including Aafia Siddiqui and here we have a non-Muslim American British lawyer trying to rescue them. What a world. :D

Just like Afghans were taking money and calling Airstrike on their rivals mud house because of ethnic hate and or personal/land dispute. Similarly Pakistan has greed issue and sectarian fault line. Those that never step foot in a masjid, would sell other Pakistani with beard for $2. And those whose compass points toward Qom, and or some other rival sect, will do it for ideological reasons.

Possibility of US visa and some $$ are always a plus for services.

Sir that's a harsh reality, Muslims forget the teachings of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w ,that even a muslim criminal can not be handed over to a non muslim authority and those muslims must be sent to muslim court who will suggest its punishment. But our president of that time only try to earn US confidence and US dollars.
British lawyer is doing its job for humanity. Thanks for quote.

What can we say... entire muslim world is quiet at the attrocities in Myanmar, Xinjiang, Darfur, Yemen, Syria, Iraq - they are as complicite in this over all.

Iqbal says it well - This Ummat is alive because of the Poor downtrodden muslim. Alas... his words echo hollow on all... A shame a travesty of epic proportions.

You are absolutely right Sir. Pakistan has align with China and sold fighter jets to the Myanmar, so they are silent on Sinkiang and Ronghiya.
Pakistan is buying RD-93 from Russia so we are also silent on Chechen issue.
Even we sold Kashmir issue for peace with india.
Every muslim country is looking at their own benefit, so no more theory of muslim global concerns.

You state exactly what Iqbal notes : I quote - 'you will even sell off your own for a mere pennies'.

I too have read this book and I must tell you, Itachi, that there is a photo of part of the face of a man who tried to assassinate Musharraf with a suicide bomb and this was IIRC one of two times when the mullah groups tried to kill him. Do you agree with these assassination attempts ?

Pakistani militant groups who have fighters or trainers in context of Kashmir need not be good for Pakistan. From this article :
The jihadi groups operating in Kashmir have also been linked to terrorist incidents inside Pakistan. Many Jaish-e-Mohammad members were directly involved in terrorism in Pakistan and were arrested by the police in connection with such violence. According to reports, Jaish-e-Mohammad was involved in an attack on President Musharraf as well. One report claims, in fact, that Muhammad Jamil, one of the suicide bombers who blew himself up in an attempt to assassinate President Musharraf, was a member of Jaish-e-Mohammad, but that the investigators hushed up the issue. Noor Ahmed, one of the attackers involved in the grim July 2003 terrorist attack on a Shia mosque that killed 50 and injured another 60 people, belonged to Al-Badar, a group fighting in Kashmir.

But about what should be done with Kashmir there was Musharraf Four Point Formula which unfortunately wasn't accepted in India in government circles and the hardline separatist leader in Kashmir Syed Ali Shah Geelani. But this solution can be revived since Geelani has died. And I myself have presented a solution for the issue in the below thread :

Portraying this as a Muslim/Pakistani trait is disingenuous at best.
Humans do what humans do best, look out for their self interest. Them being of a particular religion/nationality has no bearing on this behavior.

This guy is only allowed to exist so Americans can pat them self on the back about "caring" while their genocidal U.S. terror regime keeps massmurdering, torturing, staring and discriminating Muslims in China, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Lybia and so on or at least trying to do so and legitimize the U.S. terror regimes attrocities and violations of human rights accross the globe as "scrutinized" and "checked". No matter what his true intentions are hes an irrelevant puppet piece and his campaigns largely irrelevant in respect to actually bringing "justice" to a U.S. terror regime run torture chamber and global kidnapping scheme and he can and will be taken out of the equation the second hes not playing his part anymore.

Americans are brainwashed to believe they are saints worshipped by the world for their morals and love, expressed by American massmurder and abuse, and dig into this shit. Just like the next 4 planned history revisionist Hollywood movies are potraying Americans as saviors of Aghani staffers escaping from the Taliban, rather than realistically portraying Americans as pointing guns at poor civilians trying to flee into a assumed wealthy nation they are yet disillusioned about and kicking them away so they can load their dog and camera gear onto the plane or bombing kids out of revenge for some American terrorists being killed. They dont watch this stuff out of love for Afghans, they watch this stuff beause they love their own image.

Wdym "agree" with his assassination??

Was he a bad leader?

Yes. His foolishness cost Pakistani lives (he lead us into WoT). His ineptness to for see the Swat and KPK (NWFP back then) situation cost us even more.

You're not Pakistani. You don't know what we have lived through.

What is the Chechen issue ?

Wow...

What's the Chechen issue?? Lmao

You clearly need to read up.

Chechnya is a Muslim majority region in the Caucasus. It has been under Russian control for 200-400 years now. Before that, it was an independent land, ruled by Muslims.

The Muslims of Chechnya have tried multiple times to gain freedom from Russia. Last time was less than 30 years ago...

The only "solution" to Kashmir is it being given to Pakistan. As it should have been. Anything short of that will never work. But this can be discussed on another thread.

This guy was called a "traitor" by the American establishment. For standing up for the rights of Muslims detained illegally.

Just like some on PDF call me a traitor for standing up for Uyghur rights.

Admit it, unlike many other nations, Americans are free to support whoever they want. As long as they're within the law.

Very few countries allow that. The American people are very different from the American government.
Portraying this as a Muslim/Pakistani trait is disingenuous at best.
Humans do what humans do best, look out for their self interest. Them being of a particular religion/nationality has no bearing on this behavior.

The point of this thread was to show the untold stories of illegally detained Pakistanis. Men who were given up by their countrymen for a few pennies on the dollar.

It has nothing to do with maligning anyone but the perpetrators of such a heinous act.

.
Wdym "agree" with his assassination??

You support mullah groups like TLP, Tablighi Jamaat and Jamaat-e-Islami and these are the people who created the environment for other such more organized groups to try to assassinate Musharraf. You should therefore stop your support for such groups.

Was he a bad leader?

Yes. His foolishness cost Pakistani lives (he lead us into WoT). His ineptness to for see the Swat and KPK (NWFP back then) situation cost us even more.

You're not Pakistani. You don't know what we have lived through.

I am not Syrian either but I know that Bashar al Assad's forces and his allies must be supported and those opposing him and fighting him must not be supported.

What was Musharraf's ineptness anyway ? What would Imran or Nawaz have done in Mushy's place ?

And from this article from October this year :
There has been a surge in violence this year, according to data compiled by the Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS), an Islamabad-based research organisation.

Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the "ideological twin" of the Afghan Taliban, is mainly responsible. TTP wants to follow in the footsteps of its Afghan counterparts and establish their interpretation of Sharia - a hard-line form of Islamic governance - in Pakistan.

According to PIPS data, the TTP carried out 95 attacks last year, killing 140 people, and 44 attacks in the first six months of this year.

As the Afghan Taliban made rapid progress in Afghanistan and started gaining control of various provinces from July onwards, the TTP increased their activity. From July until September, the group carried out another 44 attacks, claiming 73 lives. Those killed were mostly members of Pakistan's law enforcement agencies.
You as a Pakistani should be more concerned about these killings and lawlessness than in supporting mullahs who are the ones doing these killings and lawlessness.

If we have to speak about pre-USSR times in context of Chechnya then we may as well talk about British India. But after 1917 Chechnya became the Checheno-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic within the Russian SFSR. Yes it was wrong that Stalin forcibly deported Chechens and broke up the region :
World War II

During World War II, in 1942–43, the republic was partly occupied by Nazi Germany while 40,000 Chechens fought in the Red Army. On March 3, 1944, on the orders of Joseph Stalin, the republic was disbanded and its population forcibly deported upon the accusations of collaboration with the invaders and separatism. The territory of the ASSR was divided between Stavropol Krai (where Grozny Okrug was formed), the Dagestan ASSR, the North Ossetian ASSR, and the Georgian SSR where the extra territory was known as the Akhalkhevi District until 1957.
But Stalin's death in 1953 seems to have normalized the region. After the USSR's dissolution, just like the East European and Central Asian SSRs, Chechnya also seems to have moved towards gaining independence but in a militant way reviving the pre-USSR fights.

Now the only Chechens against Russia are also the ones who have been brainwashed by the Tablighi Jamaat and are fighting in Syria against Assad and his allies. The Chechen republic's local government works with the Russian federal government in fighting against these particular militant Chechens.

So again I ask, what is the Chechen issue ?

The only "solution" to Kashmir is it being given to Pakistan. As it should have been. Anything short of that will never work. But this can be discussed on another thread.

What you suggest is impossible. Musharraf too understood this that such an idea won't be acceptable to the Indian Establishment and people so his solution was something that could be considered by the three parties involved - India, Pakistan and the Kashmiris. My solution extends that to include all of India and Pakistan. As you said this should be discussed in my thread. Please consider the previous lines and leave your comments in my thread.

Idk where you got JI. I never said I supported them lol

And I'll continue supporting TLP and other groups who I feel are on the right. Mushy was a bad leader.....many in Pakistan believe so. He's even considered a traitor by the Armed forces of Pakistan....why else would he run and hide in Dubai??

You can keep worshipping him as your idol though.

You as a Pakistani should be more concerned about these killings and lawlessness than in supporting mullahs who are the ones doing these killings and lawlessness.

APS attack was done by foreign fighters. All from outside of Pakistan.

You don't even know what you're talking about lol

All you're saying is "Mullah bad Mullah bad".

Do you even know how this "lawlessness" came to be??

It was the ineptness of your idol Mushy who let TTP and other groups fester in the Tribal Areas. If he had taken action at the appropriate time, we wouldn't have seen 70k civilian death count. Not to mention over 5k soldier death count.

Like I said before....Chechnya has been under Russian control for 200-400 years. The Chechen struggle is one of the oldest Muslim struggles against Kufr in the modern times.

So again I ask, what is the Chechen issue ?

You need to read up. I'm not a teacher.

We'll see what's possible and impossible. :D

People with far lesser resources have done greater things. Taliban of Afghanistan are one example...
