Third Canadian detained in China as diplomatic feud escalates

you know they didn't kidnap her... so no need to invent fantasy, she was arrested and she 's been bailed out, waiting for extradition.
So yeah... Because X or Y daughter of X or Y powerful guy get arrested for X charges doesn't give you the right to arrest ppl who have nothing to do in this affair...just for the sake of being "funny"...
And if those few Canadians getting arrested in CN are true criminals then why now?

And we both know that If by any means she's being judged, it will take years and years and mostly end up with a fine... So all this fuss for nothing...just because she's the daughter of X...

I wonder if the few Chinese outside of China who "really" get arrested for nothing do get the same treatment... as this Daddy girl who let's face isn't innocent when it comes to "Money"... No one actually in this biz are... So let's not throw flowers and tears to ppl who don't deserve it... for BOTH SIDES. and get innocent ppl involved in this comedy...

It's like Ivanka getting arrested-Bailed out and waiting for extradition in CN for alleged Influence manipulation/Corruption/Taxes/Doing biz with Embargo nations etc... and having the US arresting few Chinese out of nowhere... Ppl don't give a f*ck about those people... and no one should... They played with Fire...they pay for it.
And even you in this scenario will say "Get what she deserve" if it's was the way around.

I don't think anyone on Earth seriously believes that the Meng case has nothing to do with politics.

She was arrested on the same day that Trump negotiated a trade truce with China, right as America was pressuring their allies to stay away from Huawei. It is soaked in politics from top to bottom.

And Trump himself made it clear that her arrest was to be used as a "bargaining chip" in the trade war.

Arresting someone to use as a bargaining chip for a trade negotiation is political kidnapping. And this is only scratching the surface of the retribution.

As for this Girl...she's the Head of a Company who happen to cross the International law on a particular matter...

Iran sanctions are "international law" now?

Actually the UNSC agreed to lift the sanctions on Iran. The current sanctions on Iran are a unilateral American reversal of the Iran deal and are a violation of international law.

And we both know that If by any means she's being judged, it will take years and years and mostly end up with a fine...

If it ends up with a fine it doesn't matter, the point has already been made. The US and Canada have made it clear that kidnapping foreign citizens for the purposes of trade negotiations is now fair game.

As I said, Bargaining on both sides is stupid... US or CN doesn't matter.
But taking away, their role in breaking an embargo is also being blind... Their siege isn't in Europe... So you play by the rule of the country you in... simple.

And she wasn't kidnapped... and you know it... Right now as we speak she in her home after being bailed out... Waiting a "Possible" extradition. Canada is in the process of checking the legality of the Extradition...all we know, she could stay there, get fined and that's it. or even not judged... This isn't a third world country with a Dictator at his top... Their is laws...nothing is perfect...But Canada is far from being "Corrupted or easily manipulated...We can't say that for others...

It happened with other people before her, and will continue when it comes to such matters.

My problem isn't even if the US want Huawei out or not, but when I see "potential" innocent ppl getting involved and "Reading People insulting each other like no tomorrow for the sake of People like them..;that's what tickle me...

What I don't get is why does the USA spend so much time and effort to try and stop Huawei, instead of developing their own 5G technology?

First they pressure their allies into banning Huawei (despite providing ZERO evidence for their claims) then they arrest a business executive in order to bring benefits during trade negotiations.

Why not just develop your own 5G network? Why kidnap foreign citizens to use as bargaining chips on trade?

What Canadian law did she break? What international law did she break?

The law she broke was the unilateral American reversal of sanctions on Iran, which itself is in violation of international law, i.e. UNSC resolution 2231 where the world decided to end the Iran sanctions.

You know that it happened almost a decade ago?
And it isn't the first time... ZTE pleaded guilty too few years ago for the same thing... They weren't any US-CN issues as we've got today...
They paid their 800ish millions and that's it... now they are even taking Huawai market shares...

The core problem isn't to break the laws, since it could be easily forgotten by paying... like ZTE... But she "publicly Covered" for it... aka lying at the face of peoples while they had the proof in front of them...That's why it's more "Personal" since SHE committed a crime...

As for the 5G issue, that's a corporate problem... it's the same in every department... it's their own problem... Like the US airline lobby to block the Gulf sisters to open more routes in the US...Because they can't compete with them... and found an excuse of "Their gov help them, it's unfair"

Oh you already know she committed a crime before the trial has even started? That is amazing. Guilty until proven innocent!

Donald Trump made it very clear this arrest is to be used as a "bargaining chip" in trade negotiations. The entire case is soaked with politics from top to bottom, just like America's unilateral reversal of the Iran sanctions, it shows the "rule of law" is actually the "rule of law" being used like toilet paper by politicians whenever they feel like it.

Only the Gods know why America prefers this kind of disgusting behavior instead of just trying to develop their own 5G technology.

Well that's why she was arrested... Because They've got enough evidence that she lied to cover Huawai back in the days breach of the Embargo.
It's Canada ffs... She has an Armada of Lawyers... who are checking every way to keep her out whatever by administrative fault or lack of something...
She even get a bail out... You don't get one if you don't intend to "Give" something/Cooperate later on with the investigation.
EVEN less taking into account the "Current situation" that get Diplomatic level...

And even in the US, the Judiciary sys isn't under Trump... ffs the majority of Judges are against his reforms... and even more against his "international actions"...

You have to understand...it isn't China...

. . . .

Great vicotry of yankees the dominant power ever 17 countries combined!
So you were speaking about a battle not the war?
Because right now... The Winner isn't the North...
And The South Achieved and Got what every other country may dream of... and the US is still there and strong...

I wouldn't call it a Victory tbh. Even less when the the Orange Baboon and the CupfatHead seems to be friend and stopped his "missile exhibition"...

@WSHH Do you have a problem with the report button or what? What do you wish to make,That you can't do yourself?

Except it was a political kidnapping for the express purpose of benefiting trade negotiations.

The USA using the term "rule of law" is as much of a mockery as them bombing the Middle East for "freedom and democracy".

Those words used to mean something, once. Not anymore.

Nowadays, "bringing democracy" or "bringing freedom" is essentially a euphemism for mass bombings and invasion.
