300 taka is a standard for day laborer. they are not permanent employee and none of the construction company keep permanent labor. Why are we expecting chinese contractor to do anything different. They are here only for 3 years. And 10-12 hours claim is bull$hit... its even hard to get 8 hours from a day laborer.

Are you some kind of slave owner?

If yu directly pay then you may have to pay 400 for Jugali and 600 for mistri but the contractor will pay 300 and 500 respectively. I am building a house myself and I outsourced that to a contractor and I know what they pay. If you are paying 500 for jugali then you are getting ripped off for sure.
You probably dont pay for the meal though. There are 50 taka meal allowance if you dont arrange it by yourself.

I remember few years ago someone telling me it wasn't easy for them to find someone to clean their vacation Apartment in Cox's Bazar. They hired someone for 3,000 TK a month which stayed empty for most of times. The maid was only working few hours a day and only one day a week.

that's the right way to do things....
we will start construction of this appartment building and dad and mom will go this year and supervise the work, i was supposed to go but i might get expelled from med school in a month or two... (ukraine is going through a crisis in the health education system) so i'll only be to bangladesh next year
