Nehru is criticized not hated for those reasons

He is criticized for passing down the reins of a grand old party, which came to be due to millions of people's sacrifices to his daughter. A party that should have been the symbol of pride for entire country, became a family's legacy (Indira ki baap ki jaagir) like everyone else are nobody. This kind of hypocrisy is why Congress is where it is.

He is also criticized for Chinese fiasco and 62 debacle, which so deeply hit the family's psyche that his daughter had to go for a 71 to make sure that her kin won't ever have to be doubted.

Not really. In India the defence forces have remained firmly under the control of the civilian and political setup. There is no under the table arrangement.

There were doubts in the minds of political leadership immediately after 1947, but were dispelled over the decades.

You will never see Defence Chiefs here giving sermons on economy, food security, farming, foreign relations since they know their place, which is to look after external security.

Paksiatn was a little unlucky in this regard and before democracy could take a firm foothold, these Generals made themselves very powerful. There was no one of Jinnah’s stature after his early demise who could have ensured this in Paksiatn.
