I think now when Egypt is subdued and Syria is going through a turmoil. A war of attrition is being imposed upon Syria where Syria may find itself totally divided, beaten down and crushed as a nation. Israel, with both its major neighbors, Egypt and Syria circumvented, for her, there is little resistance left to bother about.

US may be seen war monger, trumpeter bent upon waging a war and ready to strike Syria sooner than later but why US is so enthusiast and who is pushing it to do it? We may refer to secretary John Kerry two statements 1) of wednesday before the congress that US has to attack to safeguard the interest of two Arab allies; Saudi arabia and Qatar and 2) his later admission that Arabs has offered US to pay the entire cost of war till its completion'; that is to say Arabs namely Saudis and Qatar will pay whatever it takes to have a regime change in syria.

The biggest danger is that if Syria remains unstable like Lebanon where the govt forces are almost ineffective, then anybody can get into Syria like Hezbollan and launch rockets across the border into Israel or perhaps even other neighboring countries. Israel will need to set up a buffer zone in Syria if that happens which again will give rise to profound instability.

Just hope that Bashar Assad remains in power and the US does not go ahead with the misadventure. Even if it does so, just hope that the US retraces its steps and helps Bashar establish his control over the whole country. Bashar is a liberal who allows men and women to wear what they like including skirts while in Saudi Arabia, women are much worse. Even men do not have life in Saudi.
