Americans are such simple people. Rome's democracy didn't last. The neo-democracies have been around for only a few hundred years. China's dynasties have lasted longer than the american republic has been around. You know nothing about history and here you are shouting slogans gleaned from CNN.

Americans are such simple people. Rome's democracy didn't last. The neo-democracies have been around for only a few hundred years. China's dynasties have lasted longer than the american republic has been around. You know nothing about history and here you are shouting slogans gleaned from CNN.

Those who have to resort to name calling and slander are generally not very comfortable with their own viewpoints. Also you should beware assumptions. Especially if its on an internet forum. That being said no nothing lasts... thats just how it is. Of course the US will decline eventually. That is inevitable. However I wouldn't count on that happening in your lifetime. The "fall" of the US is a very much over hyped thing. I suppose our media and politicians don't help. The rise of China is also inevitable. I do not personally subscribe to anti Chinese paranoia though, that I see in the media or from people talking. We are very tied together economically and neither country is going to mess with that. And believe me that is FAR more a deterrent to any military conflict than any "nuke" ever will be.

Also more on topic... I don't think the CPC will be going anywhere anytime soon either.

CPC is far too entrenched to disappear. Even in "free" elections it will be like PAP in Singapore, LDP in Japan or a more extreme form of KMT in Taiwan. Free elections just won't happen in China.

Han dynasty was entrenching enough that it defined an entire culture's way of thinking, and it withered away within decades after its ruling system broke down. When, not if, one day the Chinese people decided they had enough of the communists, they will be gone. At the moment, the only thing they have going for them is a strong economy to keep the population happy. Unless you want to tell me PAP in Singapore and LDP in Japan existed for thousands of years, they're not relevant in the picture.

No single organization can maintain monopoly on power forever, whether through reforms or violent revolution.

You sometimes just don't know stupid people are until you see them in action.

PAP probably won't go without a massive crackdown using their conscripts. KMT and LDP knew its time was up and left without a fight. Depending on conditions, CPC could go either way.
