The woes of Bangalis of Karachi

Some of our relatives were in Karachi for work before 71, and they all were happy with Pakistani experience there.

Bengalis in Karachi are Muslims. These are not from some Arab lands. There are from sub-continent with same race, culture, religion, history and were part of Pakistan prior to 1971 for gods sake.

It is not like Hindus from India are migrating to Pakistan. India has open borders with Nepal and has a policy of accepting non-Muslims from Pakistan too who wish to immigrate to India.

So I do not understand the problem here at all.

3)How are we the same race? Are you stupid? I'm Baluch, I have more in common with Kurds than bangali. In Pak all of our ethnic groups are connected in one way or another and we don't have any "genetic" ties with 98% of India or 100% of Bangladesh.
3)What culture? The Bangladeshi have more in common with Hindus of west bangal or orrissa (India) than even Delhi Muslims.. let alone us Pakistanis.. we don't have same languages,same cultural festivals,similar clothes etc.. all we share is religion.
4)The only shared history Bangladesh has with us = Pashtuns (our people) ruled them and they supported creation of Pakistan.

Why don't you take them? You have more in common with them than anybody else!

All I see is Indians moaning about illegal Bangladeshis and whatnot.

We already host 3-6 million afghanis.

3 million illegal Bangladeshis
.5 million "others" from as far as Somalia.
We have hosted Bosnians and even Iranians (during their revolution and still have them). And many more.

Pakistan first was a secular slogan first raised by Pervez Musharraf at the behest of the crusaders and enemies of Islam whose main objective is to turn Pakistan secular and sow seeds of hatred and secularism among Muslims and to divide Muslims along nationalist lines and destroy the Islamic foundations of Pakistan.

Though I do not agree with many of the points Desert Fighter has made because of my sympathetic attitude towards Bengalis and other people who I feel have been wronged due to similarities to my families personal history I have to say given the circumstances this is a very valid reply. Especially since Indians are not only being very aggressive here but also typically self righteous while oppressing Kashmiris now in the 21st century the same way some West Pakistanis from 1965-71 were alleged to have discriminated against Bengalis and @Doyalbaba set the tone with unwanted hostility very early on in this thread.

I will not complain here as I like having unique views but Doyalbaba seriously needs to stop with the propaganda and needs to present himself more diplomatically. When a guest goes to another country he does not spit at his hosts. Your post is a classic case of not respecting the host being a foreigner on a Pakistani forum.

Also Desert Fighter has a clear point. Balochistan as a province is worse off (debatably), was worse off (according to many reliable and some debatable sources) than Bengal was. So if they stuck to their belief in Pakistan despite repeated provocations by the same Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, wasn't some of the fault with Bangali leaders and Mukti Bahini? There are many examples where countries have had severe unrest. Breaking the country and seeking independence was not seen as the solution in a huge chunk of these disputes. Especially in the last 100 years or so, 90%+ of the disputes did not result in the breakup of the country.

Also DoyalBaba's posts have been in the past grossly negligent of maintaining at least a facade of Hindu Muslim harmony in Bangladesh. He has let his Hindutva snobbishness known from the beggining, without understanding that there are parallels between Kashmir today and Bengal yesterday as well as ignoring the fact that it is a muslim goal to be united. The Prophet made clear his want for muslim unity and 320 million muslims in Pak-Bengal combined would indeed make the largest Islamic nation. We blew it. I am not in favor of saying we Pakistanis did nothing. But I also want my Bangali brothers to at least see things from our perspective.

Right now its just a hotbed of racial discord and some really insecure people.

And it will give you a good hint how Balochistan ended up here in a thread by East Pakistanis.

Well Sindh was ruled by Talpurs who are of Persian origin with 98% of them being Shia.
Northern India again Pashtun tribes of Orakzai, Suri, Lodhis.
Southern Punjab again Pashtun ie Durrani.
So where are Baluchis in here?
I think most probably you are mistaking the Afghan rulers offspring born of their Balochi concubines and kaneeze which they regularly use to take from prominent Balochi tribes as Balochi rulers.

Moreover Afghans have been your rulers. I am sure you Balochis would be proud that they were your damads and you were their salas n behnois as they were kind enough to consider your women as wives n consorts.

and by the way you should know that a lot of womenfolk of those BLA, BLF Balochi dogs killed by Army n FC during operations are now working in red light areas and brothels of Karachi n Lahore and are the ones most in demand specially by the ex-Army, FC jawans who took part in Balochistan operations.

I would rather stay away from the quarrel between you two.. But the comment about Baloch women, that they are getting sold in red light areas and brothels of Karachi and are in demand by ex-soldiers, is unwarranted and lowly. I have my political differences with Balochs, but i must say they value their honour, ghairat and pride the most and are recognized for that. Whatever you say against them, just dont insult their women , even of rebels.

Such language and posting is not allowed at what I have sadly witnessed in this thread. However, offender(s) served accordingly that a break was needed.

Thread closed as conversation is not leading anywhere but insults and mocking.

Bengalis living in Karachi, are treated accordingly and one must also pay attention to the fact that we have been hosting a large number of them being illegal as well but still, many opted Pakistani Citizenship and are proud citizens of Pakistan.
